Ramayana Crosses Rs 100 Crore in Advance Bookings
Ramayana: Part One has crossed Rs 100 crore in worldwide opening-weekend advance bookings and cleared seven US box office benchmarks before its Nov 5 release.

Ramayana: Part One is entering release week with a nine-figure head start. The Nitesh Tiwari-directed epic, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash, has crossed Rs 100 crore in worldwide opening-weekend advance bookings ahead of its November 5 theatrical release.
Trade site Sacnilk puts the domestic advance gross above Rs 72 crore, including blocked seats, while overseas markets add more than Rs 40 crore. Opening-day pre-sales alone have crossed Rs 50 crore gross worldwide — a sign that demand is building across several days, not just for the first show.
The North America race
In North America, attention is on the November 4 paid previews. More than 51,000 tickets have been sold, lifting the film past the estimated premiere-ticket benchmarks for Animal, Jawan, Pushpa 2, Pathaan, RRR, Baahubali 2 and Kalki 2898 AD.
Now Ramayana is just below the estimated 52,000-ticket benchmark tied to Dhurandhar 2. That film reportedly opened to about $14 million, roughly Rs 132 crore, across a five-day North America run including previews. Trade projections currently place Ramayana: Part One in the $13-14 million range for the same window.
More than 1.40 lakh tickets have been booked across the November 4-8 period in the US, with around 37 per cent concentrated on preview night. Preview night and Thursday together hold slightly more tickets than the full Friday-to-Sunday stretch, pointing to heavy early demand.
Why the milestone matters
A Rs 100 crore advance is more than a round number. It gives exhibitors confidence to add capacity, encourages fence-sitters to book, and sets a stronger floor for the weekend before word of mouth takes over.
The stakes are unusually high because the two-part saga carries a reported Rs 4,000 crore budget. Total US pre-sales through the opening weekend are around $3 million, with previews alone generating more than $1.20 million. That is promising, but a record extended run will need turnout beyond the most expensive early shows.
- Domestic advance gross: Rs 72+ crore including blocked seats
- Overseas pre-sales: Rs 40+ crore
- Worldwide opening-weekend advance: Rs 100+ crore
- US paid previews: 51,000+ tickets
- Dhurandhar 2 benchmark: 52,000 tickets, about $14 million
- Trade outlook for North America: $13-14 million five-day opening
What to watch next
The final booking stretch matters as much as the last screen added. The Diwali calendar brings a practical wrinkle: pre-festival routines can keep some audiences away before the holiday boost begins. Additional single-screen participation, demand for premium formats and post-preview attendance will determine whether this advance-booking heat becomes a landmark theatrical run.
Ramayana: Part One also features Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey, Lara Dutta, Arun Govil and Vivek Oberoi in key roles. The second part of the saga is expected in 2027.
