Salman Khan Drops Jai Hind From Maatrubhumi on Dussehra
Salman Khan shared the Jai Hind lyrical cut from Maatrubhumi on Dussehra as fans demand a release date. The film has a clearance but no launch.

Salman Khan chose Dussehra to give fans a long-awaited glimpse of Maatrubhumi, sharing the lyrical cut of Jai Hind on Instagram. The song landed, but it was clear from the first wave of comments that fans had a different priority: the film’s release date.
The song drop and Salman’s message
The actor paired the song with a caption that blended patriotism and his usual cheeky humour. His point was simple: two festival days in a year are not enough to show love, respect and patriotism for the motherland.
“Saal bhar hona mangta hai boss,” Salman wrote.
He also kept things light, joking that anyone who did not like the cut could take it up with Himesh and Stebin on their social handles. It was a classic Salman move, part promotional push, part banter. But the reaction showed just how much the wait for Maatrubhumi has overshadowed the film’s individual assets.
The road to an NOC
Maatrubhumi was originally set for an April 2026 theatrical release. That plan was derailed after the Ministry of Defence and the Information and Broadcasting Ministry raised concerns over the film’s strongly anti-China stance. The project, directed by Apoorva Lakhia, went quiet while those concerns were addressed.
Recently, reports indicated that the I&B Ministry had cleared the film with a no-objection certificate. That was a significant step, but it did not come with the one detail fans have been asking for: a release date.
From Battle of Galwan to Maatrubhumi
The project has already undergone one major repositioning. It was first announced as Battle of Galwan, then renamed Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace. The new title carries a wider emotional arc, moving the story from a single military flashpoint to the broader idea of the motherland, while keeping the conflict at its centre.
Choosing Dussehra for the Jai Hind drop was also fitting. The festival carries the theme of victory, and Salman used the occasion to reframe patriotism as a year-round habit rather than a periodic gesture.
What we know so far
- Earlier title: Battle of Galwan
- Current title: Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace
- Original release plan: April 2026
- Current status: I&B NOC in place, no official date
- Possible window: late November or early December, as per reports
Why the fan reaction signals momentum
For a delayed film, every piece of content doubles as a pulse check. The Jai Hind drop proved that interest in Maatrubhumi has not faded, but it has shifted. Fans are not asking what the song means or how it sounds; they are asking when the film will open. That is a strong position for the makers, provided they move quickly.
The longer the date remains unofficial, the more each new asset will be met with the same question. An official announcement would convert the current curiosity into concrete box-office anticipation, something any big-ticket Bollywood release needs in a competitive window.
