Prabhas’ Spirit shifts to 29 October 2027, sets Ramayana 2 clash

Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Prabhas-starrer Spirit moves from 5 March to 29 October 2027, setting up a Diwali box-office clash with Ramayana Part 2.

Spirit shifts to 29 Oct 2027, clashes with Ramayana Part 2

Prabhas’s next outing with Sandeep Reddy Vanga is moving out of spring and into the biggest festive corridor. Spirit has been shifted from 5 March 2027 to 29 October 2027, a Diwali date that lands directly opposite Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana Part 2, starring Ranbir Kapoor.

A Diwali collision, announced early

Vanga revealed the change on Sunday, promising fans a fresh poster of Prabhas. On X, he wrote, 29TH OCTOBER DIWALI 2027. The earlier date had been 5 March 2027; the new worldwide release date is a clear play for the festive audience.

A Diwali release window is among the most valuable slots on the Indian release calendar. Families are on holiday, screens fill fast, and a long weekend can turn a strong opening into an extended run. With Spirit and Ramayana Part 2 now sharing that window, exhibitors will have to decide how many shows each film gets, and advance-booking interest could split early.

For the Hindi film fan, this is not just a calendar shift. It means a holiday weekend that would have been dominated by one big film now becomes a genuine choice between a star-led cop drama and a mythological spectacle. Tickets, screens and social media attention will be contested from the first announcement to opening day.

What Spirit is bringing

Spirit marks the first collaboration between Prabhas and Vanga. Prabhas plays a police officer with one bad habit, and the cast includes Triptii Dimri, Vivek Oberoi and Prakash Raj. A first look released towards the end of 2025 showed Prabhas in a rugged, bruised avatar, with Dimri alongside him.

One is a star-driven action drama built around a cop, the other a mythological spectacle. That contrast could widen the total festive audience, or it could force an early split among fans who would otherwise watch both.

Prabhas’s release calendar is filling up

Spirit is not the only title on Prabhas’s board. Here is what fans should keep track of:

  • Fauzi — Hanu Raghavapudi’s period action drama, initially expected in December 2026, is now reportedly eyeing 18 March 2027.
  • Kalki 2898 AD Part 2 — the sequel continues the sci-fi saga.
  • Salaar Part 2 — the follow-up to the action hit is also in the pipeline.

For fans, the immediate next step is the poster reveal Vanga has teased. After that, the real indicator will be how quickly advance bookings move when sales open, because a Diwali clash between two expected blockbusters is a direct measure of fan momentum.

Mark the date: 29 October 2027 is no longer just another Diwali weekend. It is the weekend two of Indian cinema’s biggest current forces fight for the same festive audience.
