SRK’s King enters final schedule for ₹450 crore Christmas release

King’s final Mumbai schedule is on, with a Suhana Khan dance track and a possible November 2 teaser ahead of the ₹450 crore film’s December 24 release.

SRK's King sprints to Christmas on a ₹450 crore budget

Shah Rukh Khan is back on a Mumbai set for the final stretch of King, the action thriller directed by Siddharth Anand that is due in theatres on December 24, 2026. With that date approaching, the production has moved into its last city schedule — and it is shaping up to be a sprint of action, song and, if the reports hold, a birthday-timed first look.

Final schedule begins in Mumbai

According to a report in Mid-Day, the final schedule opened in Goregaon on October 11. Shah Rukh began filming an action sequence at a studio in Andheri East the next day, as the unit pushes to complete the remaining action portions by mid-October. After that, Siddharth Anand is expected to pivot to a newly added song sequence, with the production also working to finish visual effects before the Christmas release.

More than action: a Suhana dance number and a possible special appearance

The last leg reportedly includes an extra dance track featuring Suhana Khan, who makes a major leap by sharing the screen with her father. Choreographers Piyush Bhagat and Shazia Samji are said to be working on the number, which is planned for a large set at Mumbai’s Film City and is designed to showcase Suhana’s dancing.

Bollywood Hungama has also reported that Kareena Kapoor may make a special appearance, sharing a track with Shah Rukh titled Daddy Cool. The song was reportedly being considered for an October shoot in South Africa. As with much of the schedule talk around King, the makers have not confirmed that detail officially.

A birthday teaser to start the campaign

Bollywood Hungama’s report suggests the team wants to reveal the King teaser on November 2, Shah Rukh’s birthday, framing it as the start of the film’s global marketing push. If that date sticks, the first look would arrive less than two months before release — a deliberately tight window that leans on the star’s fan-driven birthday moment instead of a long, drawn-out promotional cycle.

The report also places the production budget around ₹450 crore, though neither that figure nor the teaser date has been officially confirmed. What is clear is the scale: this is being positioned as an event release, not a quiet year-end title.

Why King matters for Hindi film fans

For Shah Rukh, King follows the enormous 2023 run of Pathaan and Jawan, and it marks another collaboration with Siddharth Anand after Pathaan. For Suhana, it is the kind of launch vehicle that puts her beside her father in an action world, with Red Chillies Entertainment producing alongside Marflix Pictures.

The ensemble also includes Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan and Jaideep Ahlawat. For audiences, the immediate checklist is simple:

  • Watch for an official confirmation of the November 2 teaser plan.
  • Expect the promotion to accelerate quickly once the first footage is out.
  • Keep the December 24 release date in mind as the final schedule wraps.

Until the makers confirm the teaser and the budget, treat both as well-sourced reporting rather than studio announcements. But the production timeline itself is now concrete: the final schedule has begun, and a Christmas release is the target.
