Tamannaah Bhatia on Annu Kapoor’s ‘dudhiya badan’ comment
Tamannaah Bhatia has finally addressed Annu Kapoor's 'dudhiya badan' remark, saying she filters out such noise and stays focused on her work.

After a year of online chatter, Tamannaah Bhatia has answered the question around Annu Kapoor’s “dudhiya badan” remark. Her response, delivered at NDTV Profit Ignite 2026, was not really about the comment itself. It was about where a public figure chooses to place attention.
The exchange is a familiar Bollywood flashpoint: a senior male actor comments on a younger female star’s body, social media splits into outrage and defence, and the woman at the centre is expected to respond. Tamannaah’s answer is notable because it refuses the usual fight without pretending nothing happened.
The remark that kept circulating
Last year, Annu Kapoor appeared on Shubhankar Mishra’s YouTube channel and watched the song “Aaj Ki Raat”. When the host said he admired Tamannaah, Kapoor used a phrase that translates roughly to “milky body”, then went on to say she was helping children sleep with her face and body. Many viewers called the remarks misogynistic and sexist.
Tamannaah’s answer is a filter
Asked about the commentary at NDTV Profit Ignite 2026, Tamannaah said a creative person’s most important task is to listen, but also to understand what to keep and what to filter. She put it simply:
“If we start giving importance to such things, then perhaps we will be able to move forward in life.”
She added that she does not even see these things. Instead, she said, she focuses on her work, on what she wants to make, and on her acting career. The event host had also asked whether her recent choices were part of an image makeover; she steered the answer back to intention and craft.
The lens she uses
- Filter the noise: decide what deserves your energy before responding.
- Keep the work central: she named acting and the work she wants to make as her focus.
- Treat it as a service: she said she wants her work to reach people from the right place.
Why this matters
Body commentary on female actors is not new, but the conversation around it has shifted. The question at the event also asked whether she wanted audiences to see her differently now, beyond screen presence and sensuality. Her reply sidesteps the outrage cycle and offers a clear rule: you cannot control every comment, but you can control the attention you give it.
That framing may be the story’s real lesson. Public figures are often told to clap back or stay silent, but Tamannaah chose a third path: acknowledge the question, decline the fight, and point to the work. It is a quiet but clear boundary.
For fans, that is a more useful headline than another round of anger. She was last seen in The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest alongside Sidharth Malhotra, released in theatres on September 25, 2026.
