Two Hurt in Firing Near Tiger Shroff; 3 Sought

Mumbai Police record injured driver Firdous's statement and scan CCTV after a Sunday firing in Juhu left two hurt; Tiger Shroff was unhurt.

Police Record Driver's Statement in Tiger Shroff Firing

Mumbai Police have begun piecing together the events of Sunday evening in Juhu, when gunfire near Pushpa Park left two people injured as Tiger Shroff was on his way home from a game of football. The actor was unhurt, but the case has drawn in the Crime Branch and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

What happened in Juhu

The firing took place on Sunday, October 18, near Pushpa Park. According to early reports, a crowd had gathered in the area hoping to catch a glimpse of the actor when three unidentified assailants allegedly opened fire.

Two people were injured: Shroff’s driver Firdous and an autorickshaw driver. Firdous is being treated at Nanavati Hospital, and Mumbai Police have now recorded his statement. Multiple reports initially claimed the actor and two others were injured, but police later clarified that Shroff was safe and had suffered no gunshot wounds.

What officials are saying

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Shroff at his residence after the incident. He told CNN News18 that he had spoken with the Mumbai Commissioner and Crime Branch officials.

“What happened is a very unfortunate incident. Tiger Shroff is an emerging actor, and firing was carried out at him,” Shinde said.

Shinde said the actor was left with a gunpowder burn and wounds from glass fragments, and indicated that the shots were likely fired from a very short distance.

The investigation so far

  • Three unidentified assailants are alleged to have fired shots near Pushpa Park in Juhu on October 18.
  • Two people were injured: Tiger Shroff’s driver Firdous and an autorickshaw driver.
  • Shroff was not hit by gunfire, though Shinde said he had a gunpowder burn and glass-fragment wounds.
  • Mumbai Police are examining CCTV footage and have recorded Firdous’s statement at Nanavati Hospital.

Why this matters for fans

For Hindi film fans, the idea of a popular star being caught up in gunfire – whether targeted or caught in a crowd-related security lapse – is unsettling. Shroff’s Sunday routine of playing football and driving home is ordinary and relatable, which is partly why the incident has spread so quickly across film circles. The police clarification that he was safe also matters because early claims about the actor being injured were already circulating.

What comes next will hinge on matching the CCTV trail with the driver’s statement to identify the three men. No arrests or motive have been announced yet, so this remains a developing story with official updates expected.
