Tiger Shroff firing: 3 suspects held in Kota

Tiger Shroff had a narrow escape on Sunday evening after gunfire was aimed at his car while he was leaving a football club in Mumbai around 7 pm. Police have since taken three suspects into custody in Rajasthan’s Kota and formed 15 teams to investigate the attack.

What witnesses saw

Mumbai-based vlogger Salma Shaikh was at the spot to film the actor and had called out to him before he entered the car. She told ANI that the first shots sounded like Diwali firecrackers. “Then the car stopped, and Tiger was on the floor. He didn’t get a single scratch,” she recalled.

Another eyewitness, Shah Rukh Shaikh, told PTI that two men fired four rounds at the seat where Tiger was sitting and fled in their own vehicle. He said the driver was hit, a fan walking beside the car was shot in the stomach, and Tiger shifted seats to drive to hospital himself.

Official reaction and injuries

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited the actor’s residence after the attack. He said five rounds were fired and called the incident condemnable. Tiger, he said, had minor injuries from gunpowder and glass shards, while the driver was more seriously hurt. Photographs showed the actor with a bandaged arm and wounds on his chest and shoulder.

  • Three suspects were apprehended in Kota; police have formed 15 teams.
  • Witnesses described four rounds; the Deputy CM said five rounds were fired.
  • Tiger had minor injuries; his driver and a fan were hurt.
  • Security has been increased outside the actor’s home.

Why Bollywood is on edge

The shooting is the latest in a line of security scares around film personalities. Shinde pointed to the 2024 murder of politician Baba Siddique, the firing outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments and the January shooting outside Rohit Shetty’s residence. FWICE, the film industry employees’ body, called the attack “completely unacceptable” and demanded a time-bound investigation.

Public reactions poured in quickly. Shatrughan Sinha tagged Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on X and said Tiger was lucky to go unhurt. Mika Singh said the timing, during Dandiya season, made the attack especially alarming and urged the government to take serious action.

What happens next

Mumbai Police say Crime Branch and local teams are working to identify the accused and establish the circumstances. Security has been tightened outside Tiger’s home. For fans and the industry, the question is whether routine public appearances by stars have become too risky, and what protection will actually change.
