Inside Farah Khan’s 7-Bedroom Versova Home and Karan’s Bag Gifts
Farah Khan opens her three-floor, seven-bedroom Versova home for the first time, showing the designer bags Karan Johar gifts her in place of fees.

A rare look inside Farah’s Versova home
Farah Khan has made a career of getting other celebrities to open their doors. Now she has let cameras into her own home for the first time—a three-floor residence in Oberoi Sky Heights, Lokhandwala.
The home has seven bedrooms, a private swimming pool and panoramic views of Versova beach. Her private lift opens into a large living area with minimal furniture: a red sofa, a side table with Buddha idols and wooden flooring. Another sitting space holds a white sofa, a red carpet and a workspace filled with awards. Across the room, a beige couch with yellow cushions completes the setting.
Her kitchen is all-white with a black countertop and a large refrigerator, and it is where she cooks her popular roast chicken and yakhni pulao. The recently renovated bedroom uses brown flooring and walnut-toned walls, with a floor-to-ceiling sliding partition separating the sleeping area from the balcony.
Farah has long been clear about her priorities. When David Dhawan told her she must never leave the house, she replied, “Never. I just work and be home.”
The Karan Johar bag economy
The bigger talking point is her handbag collection. Many of the pieces are gifts from Karan Johar, who uses them as his way of paying her for choreographing songs in his films. Farah pointed to individual bags and reminded Karan when each one arrived: a birthday, a Karan Johar film, and ‘Rocky Aur Rani’.
Karan explained that because Farah does not charge him for his songs, the designer bags are how he settles the debt. The list spans Louis Vuitton, Dior, Roberto Cavalli, Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Miu Miu and Saint Laurent.
- Louis Vuitton OnTheGo MM Tote Bag – approximately Rs 3.6 lakh
- Louis Vuitton Monogram Mahina Leather Hobo Bag – approximately Rs 3.69 lakh
- Dior Travel Nomad Pouch – approximately Rs 1.4 lakh
- Roberto Cavalli Leather Hobo Bag with Fang Handle – approximately Rs 1.64 lakh
- Gucci Blondie Medium Top Handle/Shoulder Bag – approximately Rs 4.3 lakh
- Gucci Calfskin Large Rajah Chain Tote – approximately Rs 2.35 lakh
- Bottega Veneta Knot Minaudière Clutch – approximately Rs 4.5 lakh
- Saint Laurent Cassandre Envelope Wallet on Chain – approximately Rs 1.7 lakh
Why this glimpse matters
Fans usually see Farah as the warm interviewer asking other stars about their homes. This tour flips that framing. It gives her audience a personal look at how she lives and what she values: comfort, family and friendships that have lasted decades.
The Hermès Mosaique au 24 Gold Tart Platter, reportedly worth around Rs 60,000, adds another layer. Farah revealed it was a gift from Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, and Karan admitted he had never expected to see the brand in her house.
For Hindi film fans, the appeal is less about the price tags than the relationships behind each object. A handbag here is tied to a film, a birthday or a favour returned. That makes the tour feel less like a luxury flex and more like a personal scrapbook.
The home tour format remains one of the most reliable ways for a star to connect with the audience, because it makes the person behind the persona feel reachable. Farah has leaned into that format for years. Now she has finally placed herself on the other side of the camera, and the result is a rare, unguarded glimpse of her world.
