Jailer 2 AP Tickets: Rs 50 Single Screen, Rs 75 Multiplex Hike

Andhra Pradesh has approved a seven-day ticket price increase for Rajinikanth's Jailer 2, with single screens adding Rs 50 and multiplexes Rs 75.

Jailer 2 AP Ticket Hike: Rs 50 Single Screen, Rs 75 Multiplex

Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 will open in Andhra Pradesh with a government-approved ticket premium. The state has reportedly cleared a temporary price increase for the film’s first seven days in theatres, starting with its October 15 release.

What the AP order means at the ticket window

Under the reported order, single-screen theatres can charge Rs 50 extra per ticket, while multiplexes can add Rs 75 to their regular rates. The revised pricing applies from October 15 to October 21, across up to five shows a day.

The application was filed through Sithara Entertainments, which is handling the film’s Andhra Pradesh distribution. That detail matters because Andhra Pradesh sets maximum cinema ticket rates. A theatre cannot simply raise prices beyond those limits without the state’s approval, and this order gives Jailer 2 that flexibility for one week.

  • Rs 50: extra per single-screen ticket
  • Rs 75: extra per multiplex ticket
  • October 15-21: the seven-day window for higher rates

A Dussehra clash with two pricing strategies

The approval arrives during the Dussehra release period. Vijay Deverakonda’s Ranabaali is scheduled for October 16, a day after Jailer 2. Its production house has reportedly not sought a price increase, so the film is expected to run at regular rates in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

For fans planning a festive double bill, the contrast is simple: in Andhra Pradesh, a Jailer 2 ticket will carry a first-week premium, while a Ranabaali ticket will not.

Opening-week pricing windows are a familiar box-office lever in markets where ticket rates are capped. They let distributors collect more per ticket during the peak demand window, but they also make pricing a visible part of the release story. For a star-driven film like Jailer 2, the premium signals how much opening demand the distribution side expects.

Who is on screen

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 brings Rajinikanth back as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. The ensemble includes S J Suryah, Vidya Balan, Mithun Chakraborty, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu and Mirnaa, with Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar and Vijay Sethupathi also associated and Hrithik Roshan expected to appear. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music, and the film carries a U/A 16+ certificate from the CBFC.

Plan around the first week

If you want the opening-day energy, budget for the higher AP ticket rate. If you are flexible, October 22 is the first day after the approved window, when the premium is set to end. Either way, check the final ticket price before booking, because this Dussehra puts two big releases on different pricing tracks in the same state.
