January 12 Vidudala: Kazakhstan action for Jan 12, 2027
Venkatesh and Kalyan Ram shoot a Kazakhstan leg for January 12 Vidudala, including a major action set-piece and a song ahead of Sankranthi 2027.

Anil Ravipudi’s family entertainer January 12 Vidudala has just shifted its production to a far bigger canvas. After earlier schedules in Ooty and Mysuru, the Telugu film is now being shot in Kazakhstan, where leads Venkatesh and Nandamuri Kalyan Ram are filming two of the film’s marquee pieces: a power-packed action sequence and a special song.
The production house confirmed the move on social media, writing, “The action is getting bigger in Kazakhstan.” The update said both actors are shooting under stunt choreographer Real Satish, with Ravipudi overseeing the sequence against Kazakhstan’s open landscapes.
Two specialists, one schedule
Kazakhstan is being used for scale, not just as a background. Real Satish is handling the action side, while choreographer Sekhar Master is staging the song at scenic locations. That division of labour lets Ravipudi keep the lighter family-entertainer tone even while the physical action grows.
The song and the fight are both being positioned as selling points. For a Sankranthi release, a film often needs both: spectacle for the big screen and a number that can travel through reels and music platforms before opening day.
Why the title is already a date
January 12 Vidudala carries its release date in its title. The film is locked for January 12, 2027, in the Sankranthi window, a frame Telugu audiences associate with star-led family entertainers. The makers began teasing this as a full-festival package, with the Kazakhstan leg meant to signal that the film will not arrive quietly.
The project was earlier known by the working titles #VenkyAnil5 and #NKRAR2. Keerthy Suresh plays the female lead opposite Venkatesh, while Krithi Shetty is paired with Kalyan Ram.

Actor Sriman, part of the cast, shared his own update from the film, saying it had been almost eight years since he had been part of a song choreographed by Brinda Master. He wrote, “Rocking choreography by the legendary dance master BRINDA.”
What to watch from here
The unit still has months of work ahead before the 2027 release. Once the Kazakhstan can is complete, attention will turn to GV Prakash Kumar’s music and the first teaser, both likely to tell us whether this is a family drama with action on top or an action film wearing family-entertainer clothes.
For now, the message from the production is simple: the scale is going up, and the date is set.
