Madhuri Dixit’s Worli Home Has Over 30 Husain Paintings

Farah Khan's tour of Madhuri Dixit and Dr Shriram Nene's 5,500 sq ft Worli apartment reveals more than 30 MF Husain works, a piano and family art.

Madhuri Dixit's Worli home is a Husain gallery

Madhuri Dixit and Dr Shriram Nene’s Mumbai apartment has always felt like a private showcase of family and fame. A fresh walk-through by director-choreographer Farah Khan opens the door to the couple’s Worli residence and reveals an art collection that would be the envy of many small galleries.

A 53rd-floor home built around art

The sea-facing apartment sits on the 53rd floor of Indiabulls Blu in Worli. It spans 5,500 square feet with four bedrooms, a hall and a kitchen, and it leans on a warm, understated palette: off-white, beige and brown with green accents, marble flooring and soft lighting.

The star of the space is the art. As Farah Khan entered, a corridor lined with MF Husain paintings made the home’s biggest statement. She observed that there must be at least over 30 Husains in the house because, as she put it, Madhuri was “Husain sahab’s muse.”

The corners that turn heads

Instead of one large seating area, the living room is divided into zones. A lounge with a round wooden table and beige, brown and black sofas creates a relaxed family space, while a dining area stands out with a high-gloss marble table and teal-green upholstered chairs under a dramatic chandelier. A bar in wood and beige continues the same warm design language.

Beyond the Husain paintings, a piano adds another creative layer. Farah Khan told Dr Nene, “You can open a Husain museum.” A dedicated room showcases Madhuri’s awards from her acting and dancing career, and a television area features an artwork by Raghavan KK that Dr Nene calls “our life journey.” A Husain painting in the dining area is paired with a family photograph of Madhuri, Dr Nene and their two sons, balancing art with personal history.

  • Location: 53rd floor of Indiabulls Blu, Worli.
  • Size: 5,500 sq ft with four bedrooms.
  • Collection: More than 30 MF Husain paintings, plus a piano.
  • Personal touch: An awards room and a Raghavan KK artwork tracing the couple’s life.

Why the Husain link matters now

Madhuri Dixit’s place in Husain’s visual imagination is part of Bollywood folklore. The connection feels especially current in 2026, when Husain’s “The Red Girl” set a record Rs 65 crore at a Mumbai auction. That backdrop makes a private home holding over 30 of his works feel less like decoration and more like a living archive of one of Indian modern art’s biggest chapters.

For fans, the tour is a reminder that Bollywood glamour can carry serious cultural weight. The apartment is not a cold showroom: it mixes marble, art, awards and family photographs into something personal, and Farah Khan noted that the home looks even better in daylight.
