RC17 pre-look: Ram Charan and Sukumar’s peacock poster
Ram Charan and Sukumar's RC17 gets a peacock-inspired pre-look poster and a Hyderabad pooja, marking their first film since Rangasthalam.

Ram Charan and director Sukumar have kicked off their next film with a Hyderabad pooja and a pre-look poster that is already doing what good first looks do: it raises questions without answering them. The project, currently titled RC17, reunites the actor and director for the first time since their 2018 blockbuster Rangasthalam.
A peacock-inspired first impression
The pre-look poster paints Ram Charan in broad strokes of blue, green and gold, a palette that suggests a peacock feather more than a literal portrait. It is a mood piece rather than a reveal, accompanied by the makers’ line, “You Can Imagine, but beyond everyone’s expectations.”
Ram Charan shared the image with a personal note, calling the film “extremely special” and saying he was happy to collaborate with “my dearest Sukumar garu” once again. The post ended with the tag #RC17 and the words “journey begins.”
Why the reunion matters
This is not just another big-ticket announcement. Ram Charan and Sukumar’s last outing, Rangasthalam, became a landmark film in Telugu cinema. Since then, Sukumar has directed Pushpa 2: The Rule with Allu Arjun, and Ram Charan has led the sports action drama Peddi, so both are arriving from very different energies. The new poster’s promise of something “beyond everyone’s expectations” sets a deliberately high bar for the collaboration.
For fans who still hold Rangasthalam close, the thought of Ram Charan back in Sukumar’s world is enough to generate heat. The peacock palette also suggests a stylistic move away from both their recent projects, which is why a single poster can command this much attention.
RC17 at a glance
- Project: RC17 (working title)
- Star and director: Ram Charan and Sukumar
- Last collaboration: Rangasthalam (2018)
- Launch: Pooja ceremony in Hyderabad
- Special touch: Megastar Chiranjeevi gave the first clap
The pooja ceremony
The launch was a family-and-industry affair. Chiranjeevi performed the traditional coconut-breaking ritual and gave the film its first clap. Producers Ravi Shankar and Naveen Yerneni attended, alongside filmmakers such as Naga Vamsi, Rahul Sankrityan, Gopichand Malineni, Maruthi, Buchi Babu Sana, Vamsi Nandipati and Harish Shankar.
What the poster leaves out
Beyond the colours and the caption, the makers are keeping the plot, title and release window under wraps. That restraint is part of the appeal: without a synopsis to debate, fans are left to decode the artwork and the one-line promise, which is exactly the conversation a pre-look poster is designed to start.
What to watch next
The pre-look poster is deliberately low on plot, so treat it as a palette, not a synopsis. The next steps worth following are the official title reveal, a first-look motion poster, and casting details beyond Ram Charan. For now, the reunion alone is enough to keep the conversation going.
