Crazy Kalyanam review: 2.75/5 as Naresh shines, second half slips
Naresh's father act is the surprise, Anupama Parameswaran is sincere, but a stretched second half keeps Crazy Kalyanam from being a clean entertainer.

Telugu family drama Crazy Kalyanam opened in cinemas on October 16, 2026, and 123telugu has handed it a 2.75/5. The Anupama Parameswaran starrer gets its laughs right early but loses grip after the interval, according to the review.
The father-daughter core
The story follows Keerthi (Anupama Parameswaran), an MSc graduate trying for a government job. Her father Parvatalu (Naresh) wants a good match for his daughter because his son-in-law, Balraj (Tarun Bhaskar), has left him bitter about marriage. Keerthi’s plans change when she falls for Uday (Akhil Raj Uddemari), a handloom worker.
What works
The review’s biggest surprise is Naresh. He gets a strong father role that lets him move between comic timing and emotional scenes, and the Telugu drama benefits every time he is on screen. Anupama Parameswaran is sincere as a young woman trying to stand on her own feet, and Tarun Bhaskar’s scenes with the main cast add to the early fun.
What drags it down
The film feels unnecessarily stretched, especially in the second half. The wedding episode runs long without landing enough impact, and several emotional subplots never fully link up. Tarun Bhaskar’s character changes too quickly near the end, and a late twist around Naresh’s emotions could have been presented better.
Technicals and verdict
Production values are good, Suresh Bobbili’s songs and score work well, and Shyam Dupati’s cinematography is pleasing. The editing needed to trim the slow second-half scenes. Director Bhadrappa Gajula maintains the first half and draws solid performances, but the weak writing and loose logic in the second half cost the film.
- Naresh is the standout in both comedy and emotion.
- The first half works as a light family comedy.
- The second half stretches the wedding track and loses logic.
Why the score lands where it does
A 2.75/5 is a mixed score: enough for a one-time family watch, but not enough for a strong recommendation. In a genre that runs on father-daughter emotion and wedding comedy, the loose second half is what keeps Crazy Kalyanam from becoming a clean entertainer.
For Hindi film fans keeping an eye on southern releases, this is a passable family watch for Naresh and the early laughs. Go in with modest expectations and the lighter moments may land; the second half is where the film slips.
