Arijit Singh’s Phir Se Enters Grammy Consideration
Phir Se from Dhurandhar: The Revenge is in Grammy consideration for Best Song Written for Visual Media, but the final nomination is still ahead.

Arijit Singh’s Phir Se from Dhurandhar: The Revenge has officially entered the Grammy conversation. The singer confirmed on Instagram that the track is in consideration for Best Song Written for Visual Media, the category that honours songs created for films, television and other visual storytelling.
That first line sounds close to a nomination, but the two are not the same. Being put forward for consideration means the song has entered the Recording Academy’s eligibility universe. It still has to clear the Academy’s requirements and voting rounds before the final nominees are announced.
Consideration is an early step, not a nomination
The Grammy push is wider than one song. T-Series and B62 Studios have submitted the film’s soundtrack and individual tracks across several categories, including global music, Asian pop, songwriting, rap, and dance and electronic recordings. The campaign also features Aari Aari, Jaan Se Guzarte Hain, Kanhaiyya and Jaiye Sajana.
“#PhirSe from DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE for your GRAMMY consideration in the Best Song Written For Visual Media. Thank you for all the love.”

- Lead entry: Phir Se for Best Song Written for Visual Media.
- Wider submissions: the soundtrack and individual tracks across global music, Asian pop, songwriting, rap, and dance and electronic categories.
- Other songs in the push: Aari Aari, Jaan Se Guzarte Hain, Kanhaiyya and Jaiye Sajana.
Why the song’s placement matters
Phir Se sits in the film’s closing moments, accompanying Jaskirat Singh Rangi’s return home after his mission in Pakistan. For the visual-media category, that placement is meaningful: the song is not a standalone single so much as the emotional punctuation of the story.
Shashwat Sachdev composed the music, with lyrics by Irshad Kamil and Kumaar. Bombay Rockers also contributed to select tracks on the album.
A wider window for Indian film music
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is the second film in a franchise that has earned more than Rs 3,000 crore in India across its two instalments. Ranveer Singh leads the cast, with Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun and Akshaye Khanna in pivotal roles.
The consideration campaign gives the film’s music a chance to reach international voters and audiences. Whether Phir Se advances to the nominee list remains to be seen, but the entry is already a visible milestone for the song’s creators.
