Akka Trailer: Suresh & Apte Face Off Before Oct 30 Netflix Debut
The official Akka trailer is here: Radhika Apte and Keerthy Suresh lead YRF Entertainment's female gangster saga, premiering October 30 on Netflix.

The women of Pernuru run the city. At least, they do until Akka begins. The official trailer for YRF Entertainment’s new criminal thriller dropped on October 17 — and, deliberately, that date is also Keerthy Suresh’s birthday.
A sisterhood under pressure
Set in the fictional city of Pernuru, Akka follows a sisterhood of female gangster queens whose hold on power starts to crack when a change begins to seep in. Radhika Apte plays Rudra, a woman the official notes describe as driven by her own convictions. Keerthy Suresh plays Bhavani, a role she says is one of the most unique and memorable characters she has played.
Keerthy added that the birthday reveal felt special because the project is close to her heart. Radhika, for her part, said Rudra is driven by an instinct to challenge the world around her. Those two character sketches tell you Akka is not placing its leads on the same moral map.
The series marks the directorial debut of Dharmaraj Shetty, who also wrote the show. Executive producers are Aditya Chopra, Yogendra Mogre, and Akshaye Widhani, with Tanvi Azmi also in the ensemble.
Why this one matters
This is not Keerthy Suresh’s first tough part, but it is her first series with Netflix and YRF Entertainment — a detail she called out in the announcement. Radhika Apte, a familiar face across several Netflix projects, said the complexity of the characters and the tension among their perspectives drew her in. For viewers, that pairing suggests a crime saga built on rivalry and point of view rather than set pieces alone.
There is also a small marketing lesson in the timing. The teaser went out on Keerthy’s birthday, turning a trailer drop into a double headline. It gives fans a reason to celebrate and a reason to talk about the show in the same social moment.

What to do before October 30
Watch the trailer, particularly if you like crime dramas where power is held by women who never apologise for it. Keep an eye on Rudra and Bhavani: from the official descriptions, their clash appears to be the engine of the story. Then mark the Netflix premiere — October 30 — so you can see whether the sisterhood holds or breaks.
