Ramayana: Part One locks Nov 5 worldwide release
The confusion is over: Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana: Part One opens worldwide on November 5, 2026, with advance bookings starting on Dussehra.

After weeks of conflicting calendar signals, Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part One finally has one release date. The team took to Instagram on Sunday, October 11, with a new poster and a clear announcement: the film opens in cinemas worldwide on November 5, 2026, across all premium formats.
The post arrived on Navratri, and the makers leaned into the occasion, writing “Yeh Ram ke Yug ka Aarambh hai” — the beginning of a new era. It also confirmed that advance bookings will open on Dussehra.
How the date confusion built up
The international trailer, distributed by Sony Pictures, had earlier pointed to November 6 as the worldwide release. Producer Namit Malhotra had separately spoken about a Diwali release in India. Some trade reports then suggested a November 5 India open with paid previews on November 4.
The latest update settles the question: November 5 is the worldwide date, full stop.
What the release plan now looks like
- Part 1: November 5, 2026, worldwide in premium formats
- Advance bookings: Open on Dussehra
- Part 2: Scheduled for Diwali 2027
- Languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, plus IMAX
The cast is one of the reasons this film is carrying so much anticipation. Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi is Sita, Yash is Ravana, Sunny Deol appears as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey essays Lakshman.
Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios is producing with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. Sony Pictures will distribute the film globally, except in India, where Dharma Productions handles the Hindi-speaking market.
Why the single date matters
For fans, the clarification is practical. A one-date rollout removes the guesswork about whether to plan for November 5, November 6 or a Diwali slot. It also makes the premium-format pitch concrete: audiences can choose an IMAX or premium show in the language they prefer, and Dussehra gives a specific moment to book.
Keeping both parts in five languages and IMAX tells you the ambition here. This is not a single-market event; it is being built as a pan-India theatrical event across Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi audiences.
What to do between now and Dussehra
Set a reminder for the advance booking window. Premium and IMAX shows are likely to fill fastest, so decide your language and format before the sale opens, and do not rely on the older November 6 trailer mention when planning tickets.
