King promo to ride with Ramayana; teaser likely on Nov 2
A specially shot King promo will play with Ramayana in cinemas, and Shah Rukh Khan's teaser is likely to arrive on his birthday, November 2.

Shah Rukh Khan’s King is about to get a larger-than-life launchpad. Instead of waiting for its own release window, the film is being attached to one of the biggest theatrical runs of the year.
According to a report carried by The Times of India, a specially shot promotional video for King will play across a cinema chain in India during the theatrical run of Ramayana. The teaser is also tipped to arrive on Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday, November 2.
A theatrical tie-up built for maximum visibility
The promo is expected to travel with Ramayana, which opens worldwide on November 6, two days before Diwali. Nitesh Tiwari’s epic is being positioned as one of the year’s biggest releases, with Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Yash as Ravana and Sai Pallavi as Sita.
Ramayana also packs a large ensemble, including Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman and Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi. That festival-timed run gives King a promotional window in front of families, mythology buffs and SRK fans sharing the same screen.
What we know about King
King is directed by Siddharth Anand, who returns to the director’s chair with Shah Rukh Khan after Pathaan. That 2023 action thriller brought SRK back to a full-fledged leading role after a four-year break, so expectations around this reunion are naturally high.
The ensemble cast is stacked. Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi and Abhay Verma are on board, with Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Rani Mukerji also part of the lineup. The film is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures and is likely to be dubbed in six languages.
Here is what to keep on the Bollywood calendar:
- November 2: Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday, when the teaser may arrive.
- November 6: Ramayana opens, bringing the King promo to cinemas.
- December 24: King reaches theatres.
Why the Ramayana moment matters
This is not just a trailer placement. It is a cross-film promotional moment that puts King in front of an audience already excited about an event film. For fans, it turns a routine theatre trip into a two-for-one experience; for the industry, it shows how big releases can market to each other’s audiences instead of relying on social media alone.
For SRK, a birthday reveal would turn November 2 into the campaign’s first major moment, giving the film an organic spike of fan attention before the full promotional push begins. The second part of Ramayana is already scheduled for Diwali 2027, so the first film’s run will be watched closely. If the King promo creates chatter, it could set the tone for one of the loudest year-end releases of 2026.
