SRK’s King 45-second promo cleared by CBFC

Shah Rukh Khan's King 45-second promo has CBFC clearance, with a possible November 2 reveal and theatrical run before Ramayana still unconfirmed.

SRK's King 45-second Promo Gets CBFC Clearance

Shah Rukh Khan’s big-screen action thriller King has taken a small but significant step forward: a 45-second promotional video has reportedly received certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The clearance has set fan timelines buzzing, even though the makers have not yet confirmed when or where the teaser will actually appear.

What the reports say

Moneycontrol and Mid Day have reported that the 45-second promo has been certified. Separately, Bollywood Hungama and Variety India had earlier pointed to November 2 as a possible launch date—timed to Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday. The same day was used for the film’s title reveal in 2025.

Reports also suggest the teaser could be screened in cinemas alongside Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, which stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama. If that attachment happens, it would put King in front of one of the largest theatre-going audiences of the season.

Why this teaser matters

King is not just another Bollywood action film. It reunites Shah Rukh Khan with Pathaan director Siddharth Anand and marks the first on-screen pairing of the superstar with his daughter, Suhana Khan. The title reveal had already introduced a silver-haired, action-heavy avatar and a line that quickly became a talking point:

“Darr nahi, Dehshat hoon (I am not fear, I am horror).”

The ensemble adds more pull: Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Deepika Padukone, Jaideep Ahlawat, Saurabh Shukla, Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff are among the reported key cast. The film is backed by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures.

What fans should keep in mind

  • Nothing is official yet. The CBFC clearance is a technical approval, not a confirmed launch date.
  • The November 2 date is still a report. It aligns with SRK’s birthday and the 2025 title reveal, but the makers haven’t confirmed the plan.
  • The theatrical attachment is an opportunity. If the teaser plays before Ramayana, it could give King a visibility boost ahead of its holiday release.

The bigger picture

For Bollywood watchers, a 45-second promo can do a lot of work. It sets the tone for the full trailer, reconnects audiences with a leading man returning to action, and gives theatres one more reason to draw crowds before the film arrives. King is currently scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on December 24, 2026, so the next official promotional beat should not be far away.
