Yash Praises Sai Pallavi as Sita in Ramayana

Yash called Sai Pallavi 'a devotee' at Ramayana's Bengaluru trailer launch and asked audiences to bless her as Sita opposite Ranbir Kapoor.

Yash asks audiences to bless Sai Pallavi as Sita

At the international trailer launch of Ramayana in Bengaluru, Yash made a request that is not typical of an actor playing Ravana. He asked audiences to bless Sai Pallavi, who plays Goddess Sita, and said he was happy to see her take on the role.

What Yash said about Sai Pallavi

Yash described Sai Pallavi as a devotee whose faith is visible even in small moments. He said she is so devoted that she remembers Sita for five minutes whenever she gets a chance, and he praised the qualities she brings to the part.

“She is a devotee,” Yash said at the event.

He added that the team has watched her on set and saw someone deeply devotional and reverent, who often speaks about God. In his view, she has the artistry and the good heart needed for the role. His appeal was simple: give her love and bless her.

His words were not framed as a co-star’s polite praise. They were delivered as a request to the audience, and that is a different register. It treats the casting of Sita as a matter of collective blessing rather than a promotional talking point.

Why a Ravana praising Sita stands out

Mythological epics often sell grandeur first. Yash, the antagonist of the film, publicly championing Sita shifts the focus to devotion and character. That is a warm, human note for a project already being positioned as one of the most ambitious Indian films.

Ramayana is planned as a two-part cinematic epic with a combined budget of Rs 4,000 crore. It brings together Nitesh Tiwari as director, Namit Malhotra as producer, Shridhar Raghavan on adaptation, and Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman on music.

For an epic that will be watched across languages and regions, that sense of belief could be the difference between a big opening and a lasting one.

Why the Bengaluru launch matters

The team chose Bengaluru for the international trailer launch, a city that matters for both Kannada and pan-India audiences. Yash’s presence as a Kannada star gives Ramayana a bridge between the Hindi-speaking heartland and the southern markets that have become critical for big-ticket Indian cinema.

This is not only about star power. In a two-part mythological epic, audience belief is the product. A lead actor talking honestly about a co-star’s devotion can do what a visual-effects reel cannot: make the casting feel earned.

The Ramayana team at a glance

  • Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram
  • Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita
  • Ravi Dubey as Lakshman
  • Yash as Ravana
  • Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman

Release plan and what to expect

Part 1 is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 5, 2026, ahead of Diwali. Part 2 is planned for Diwali 2027. With the trailer launch under way, the promotional window is moving from casting headlines into full event mode.

The music team only adds to the project’s ambition. Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman represent two different global soundscapes, and their collaboration signals how seriously the makers are treating the film’s scale and emotional register.

For fans, Yash’s words are an early signal about how the film wants to treat its mythology: with devotion rather than distance.
