Ramayana Has $771,000 Overseas Before India Bookings Open

Overseas advance sales for Ramayana have touched USD 771,000 across three markets before India bookings open on Dussehra and the November 5 five-language release.

Ramayana Already Has $771,000 in Overseas Pre-Sales

Ramayana is already earning money two weeks before most of its home audience can buy a ticket. Advance sales in three overseas markets have climbed to USD 771,000, according to figures tracked by Films Discourse, with more than two weeks still to go before the Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi epic opens worldwide on November 5.

The film is being sold internationally as Ramayana: Rise of a Legend, and the early numbers give a first glimpse of how strongly the title is landing with diaspora audiences.

India bookings unlock on Dussehra

Ticket windows across India open on October 20, timed to the Dussehra holiday. Fans will be able to book on all major ticketing platforms, and premium formats including IMAX are part of the release plan.

The film arrives in five languages on the same date: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. It is planned as the first of two parts, with the second chapter dated for Diwali 2027.

Where the early money is coming from

North America accounts for USD 558,000 of the offshore total, roughly 72%. The UK follows with USD 141,000 and Australia with about USD 72,000.

  • US premiere night on November 4: around 10,800 tickets sold, worth roughly USD 210,000.
  • North American premiere pre-sales including Canada: above USD 250,000.
  • Opening-day bookings on November 5 across the three markets: USD 162,000 so far.

The average US premiere ticket price is close to USD 19.50, which points to interest in costlier formats such as IMAX and 3D, even if raw sales alone cannot confirm that mix.

Why this early signal matters

For a two-part, five-language epic, strong offshore pre-sales ahead of the Indian on-sale suggest the event positioning is working. Opening India bookings on a festival day is a clear attempt to convert Dussehra enthusiasm into committed seats before the release-day rush.

The film is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. Hans Zimmer and A. R. Rahman are composing the music together, giving audiences another reason to treat this as a big-screen event.

What fans should do now

If you want a premium-format seat, treat October 20 as the real on-sale date rather than waiting for November 5. The five-language release also means many viewers can pick a language beyond Hindi, and early numbers suggest premium shows are the first to move.
