Govinda on Sunita’s claims: She’s lucky for me, I’ll keep dodging
Govinda says wife Sunita Ahuja is being influenced by third parties over her infidelity claims, calls her his lucky charm, and vows restraint.

Govinda has finally addressed the infidelity allegations made by his wife, Sunita Ahuja, choosing restraint over public retaliation. In a new interview, he said the woman he describes as his lucky charm is being influenced by outsiders, and he has no intention of fighting the claims point by point.
The actor’s comments come weeks after Sunita shared pictures from a Kolkata temple visit. In that social media post, she wrote about wanting the “demons” in her life removed, said her home was falling apart, and asked women and Gen-Z for support. She also appeared to point to Govinda’s equation with Komal Rani, his younger co-star in the upcoming home production Roopa.
A public family feud, handled quietly
Speaking to ABP Live, Govinda credited Sunita with much of his success. Whatever name and respect he has earned, he said, has come from his mother’s blessings and his wife’s presence behind him. “She’s been lucky for me,” he told the channel.
He was equally clear about his strategy. Rather than escalate, he intends to sidestep the allegations. “I’ll keep dodging her claims till those who are influencing her get dizzy,” he said, adding that bitterness will never lead to sweetness.
Why the silence is the strategy
Govinda framed his response as a long-term calculation. He said he anticipated something like this seven or eight years ago, and that anyone close to a person can be influenced by outside forces. His priority, he explained, is not to embarrass his wife or damage her reputation while the storm plays out.
That is an unusual stance in an industry where personal conflicts are often fought in headlines and social media posts. By refusing to counter every accusation, Govinda appears to be betting that the public will eventually see his side as the respectful one. He acknowledged that reactions to the claims have spread across the country, particularly among women, but said he is choosing not to object to those responses. His concern, he explained, is the residue such public fights leave behind.
- Sunita’s Kolkata temple post hinted at trouble at home and asked women and Gen-Z for support.
- She reportedly linked Govinda’s name to Komal Rani and the film Roopa.
- Govinda says third parties are manipulating her, and he will stay quiet and respectful unless forced.
The other headline: turning down Rs 20-22 crore
In the same interview, Govinda also recalled his accidental self-inflicted gunshot injury and revealed that he later refused film offers to play one-legged characters, even for Rs 20-22 crore. The detail is a reminder of how much value he still places on the roles he takes, and how long he has been navigating difficult headlines.
For fans, the next chapter may rest less on Govinda’s words than on what Sunita says next, and whether the couple can keep the disagreement from overshadowing Roopa.
