Sai Pallavi Prayed to Sita Maa; Ramayana Song Out in 5 Languages
Sai Pallavi tells KBC she prayed to Sita Maa and kept an open mind before playing Sita in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana; Part 1 releases November 5, 2026.

Sai Pallavi has offered Hindi film fans a rare glimpse into the spiritual preparation behind one of Indian cinema’s most anticipated roles. Appearing on Kaun Banega Crorepati with co-stars Ranbir Kapoor and Ravie Dubey, the actress explained why Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming Ramayana felt different from every other character she has played.
‘What can I get from Sita Maa?’
During the conversation, Amitabh Bachchan asked the actors about their first reactions to being offered the epic’s roles. Sai Pallavi said her usual impulse is to think about what she can give a character. For Sita, she flipped the question and focused on what the experience could give her.
“I didn’t want to use my head this time,” she said. “I prayed to Sita Maa and went forward with it.”
That answer matters because it reframes the role. Sita is not just another star turn. For Sai Pallavi, the part is a learning process, and she wanted to keep her preparation open rather than locking in a preconceived performance.
The ensemble taking shape
Ramayana is being developed as a two-part cinematic adaptation of the Hindu epic, and the casting brings together actors from Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada cinema. The core line-up includes:
- Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, with Sai Pallavi as Sita
- Yash as Ravana and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman
- Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Arun Govil as Dasharath and Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi
The multi-industry cast points to a pan-Indian release strategy, matching the film’s multilingual music rollout and its attempt to reach audiences well beyond a single language market.
Mangal Rang and the road to November 5
The promotional phase has begun with Mangal Rang, featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi as Maa Sita. The song has been released simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, giving fans a first taste of the film’s scale before the first part arrives.
With Part 1 set for November 5, 2026, the KBC appearance is a key stop in the film’s build-up. Sai Pallavi’s answer, though, adds something more personal than a standard rollout soundbite: a star explaining that faith, not craft, came first.
