Udta Teer Day 5: Rs 38.53 cr Worldwide, Rs 25.85 cr India
Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan's Udta Teer crosses Rs 38.53 crore worldwide in five days, with India net at Rs 25.85 crore as weekdays dip.

Five days in, Udta Teer is settling into the most telling phase of a theatrical run: the first weekday test. Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan’s spy comedy added Rs 3.10 crore net in India on Tuesday, taking domestic net collection to Rs 25.85 crore and worldwide gross to Rs 38.53 crore, according to Sacnilk data cited by The Times of India.
Day 5 box office at a glance
The Tuesday figures slipped 3.1% from Monday, a small but meaningful sign that the opening-weekend momentum has cooled.
- Tuesday India net: Rs 3.10 crore
- India net total: Rs 25.85 crore
- India gross: Rs 30.78 crore
- Overseas gross: Rs 7.75 crore
- Worldwide gross: Rs 38.53 crore
The film played across 5,854 shows on Tuesday and sold an estimated 255,953 tickets. Its reported footfall so far is 1,301,371.
The weekend-to-weekday slide
Udta Teer opened at Rs 4.10 crore on Friday, improved to Rs 7.25 crore on Saturday and peaked at Rs 8.20 crore on Sunday. Monday brought Rs 3.20 crore, and Tuesday followed with Rs 3.10 crore. That is the classic shape of a front-loaded Bollywood opening: a strong Saturday-Sunday surge, then a Monday correction that shows how much of the audience is coming from word of mouth rather than the first-day rush.
Hindi occupancy on Tuesday averaged 21.82%. Night shows led with 37%, followed by evening at 22.54%, afternoon at 16.92% and morning at 7.23%. The film is playing best as an evening-and-night watch, which matters for how multiplexes schedule it through the week.
How the film compares with Ayushmann’s past openers
The Rs 4.10 crore opening put Udta Teer eighth among Ayushmann Khurrana’s biggest first-day numbers and outside his top five. It also landed nearly 83% below the actor’s career-best opening of Rs 24 crore net, set by Thamma in 2025.
Directed by Aakash Kaushik, Udta Teer follows a Pakistani spy who loses his memory and starts believing he is an Indian counter-terrorism officer, setting off comic complications. The supporting cast includes Rahul Bose, Ram Kapoor, Gulshan Grover and Mukul Dev, whose appearance is his second posthumous screen outing after his death in 2025.
For fans and trade watchers, the next checkpoint is whether the film can hold near Rs 3 crore through Thursday. If it does, it enters the second weekend with a foundation; if it does not, the conversation shifts from total potential to screen retention. The coming days will determine how well Udta Teer sustains its theatrical run.
