Ramayana Is Getting a Theme Park and Interactive Museum
Producer Namit Malhotra's Ramayana is expanding beyond cinemas into immersive spaces, a theme park and an interactive museum.

The team behind Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is thinking well past opening weekend. A behind-the-scenes vision video on JioHotstar lays out plans for dedicated immersive spaces, a theme park and an interactive museum built around the epic.
Beyond the cinema hall
Producer Namit Malhotra and his creative team want audiences to step inside the story, not just watch it. The ambition is to let different generations experience Ramayana physically, in ways a traditional theatrical run cannot offer. The video’s caption sets the tone: “A timeless epic. A limitless vision.”
No locations or rollout dates for the physical hubs have been announced, but that hasn’t stopped trade chatter. Indian cinema rarely attaches this kind of experiential ambition to a single title.
Who is building it
The project sits on serious production infrastructure. Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios is working with DNEG, the eight-time Oscar-winning visual effects house, and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. On screen, Ranbir Kapoor plays Ram, Sai Pallavi plays Sita and Yash plays Ravana.
The distribution plan is just as structured:
- Sony Pictures will lead the worldwide rollout outside India.
- Dharma Productions will anchor the Hindi circuit.
- Prime Focus Studios and partners will steer the physical experiences.
Tiwari has also signalled a restrained use of technology, saying AI will be used only for lip-sync work in the film.
Why this matters for fans
Indian cinema has flirted with franchises before, but rarely with this much world-building announced so early. The pitch brings Ramayana closer to Hollywood’s biggest playgrounds, where a film becomes a destination and a story keeps earning repeat visits.
For Hindi film fans, the promise is bigger than a single film. A successful theme park or museum could turn the epic into a generational cultural property—and give younger, tech-savvy viewers a reason to connect with the material beyond screens. Fans can watch the full vision video on JioHotstar and follow official channels for rollout updates.
