Ramayana: Ravie Dubey’s fierce Lakshman unveiled before Nov 5
The first part of Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana opens November 5, and a new character poster shows Ravie Dubey as a battle-ready Lakshman.

With just days to go before one of Indian cinema’s most ambitious releases, the team behind Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana has introduced its latest character. A new poster presents Ravie Dubey as Lakshman: warrior outfit, bow and arrow in hand, and a look that mirrors the earlier poster of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama.
The makers’ caption keeps the introduction tight: “A devoted brother. A fearless warrior. Rama’s shield.”
Why Lakshman’s look lands
This is not a soft, decorative reveal. The bow and arrow are the visual centrepiece, and Dubey’s expression is made for battle. Matching the visual grammar of Rama’s poster is a smart continuity move: the campaign is building one recognisable world, character by character, rather than a series of standalone star posters.
Ravie Dubey makes it clear the role carries personal weight. He said, “Playing Lakshman is an emotion that is difficult to put into words,” adding that Lakshman’s devotion to Lord Rama and his values have long been an inspiration.
Why Lakshman matters in this retelling
Lakshman is not a decorative figure in the epic. He is positioned as Rama’s loyal companion and a warrior with a fierce protective streak. That combination gives a two-part adaptation an emotional constant—someone who can carry audience investment between the first chapter and the Diwali 2027 sequel.
What lies ahead
The poster is also a final-weekend push. The first part opens worldwide on November 5, 2026, and every reveal now is about turning interest into booking intent.
- Release 1: November 5, 2026, worldwide, including IMAX.
- Release 2: Diwali 2027.
- Languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
- Current cast: Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman.
The wider pan-India play
At its core, this is a pan-India release: five languages plus IMAX turns a mythological retelling into a cross-market event. That scale makes the two-part structure feel like a long-form bet on audiences returning for the second chapter at Diwali 2027.
For fans, the immediate decision is language and format. If the character-reveal pattern continues, the next key figure should tell us whether the campaign can hold this consistency all the way to the opening weekend.
