Amitabh Bachchan steps back to rest, fans send wishes
Amitabh Bachchan pauses his near-daily updates after being advised to rest, while fresh security case reports add context for fans.

A rare break in a daily habit
For years, Amitabh Bachchan has kept one of Hindi cinema’s more personal public diaries — a near-daily rhythm of blog notes, X posts and career updates. On Wednesday, that rhythm paused.
Bachchan told followers he had been advised to step away briefly. He wrote on X that he sought forgiveness and had been asked to take “a few days off to rest and recover.” He did not explain what prompted the advice.
The message followed a similar note on his official blog a day earlier. There he extended Dussehra greetings and asked readers to excuse his absence, writing that he was “under very strict rest and recuperation” and not allowed to communicate.
What we know so far
- The update: Bachchan posted on X on Wednesday that he had been advised to take a few days off to rest and recover.
- The blog note: A day earlier, he shared Dussehra wishes and said he was not allowed to communicate while resting.
- The reason: He has not disclosed what led to the advice or how long the break will last.
- The work: He is still hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati season 18 and remains attached to the Kalki 2898 AD sequel.
Security reports add to the concern
The health update landed around fresh reports about the Tiger Shroff firing case investigation. According to the reports, investigators are examining whether the accused had considered targeting other well-known Bollywood personalities. Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Aamir Khan are among the names allegedly discussed; the accused reportedly decided that attacking their residences would be difficult.
The reports add that photographs and videos of surveyed locations were allegedly shared with Anil Pandit, said to be linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The investigation is ongoing, and no official statement directly connects the security matter to Bachchan’s rest.
Why this matters to fans
Bachchan’s social presence is not just promotion. It is how a generation of Hindi film fans has stayed close to him between roles. An apology for not writing may seem small, but from a star who shows up almost every day it is the kind of note that makes a health advisory feel real.
On the work front, his last release was Vettaiyan, and he is currently part of Nag Ashwin’s sequel to Kalki 2898 AD alongside Prabhas and Kamal Haasan. For now, there is no reason to speculate beyond what he has shared. The only assignment from his team is rest.
