Kareena Kapoor confirms King song with Shah Rukh Khan at 61
Kareena Kapoor Khan confirms her dance number in Shah Rukh Khan's King, while the film's first song Tu Mil Jaaye drops on his 61st birthday.
Shah Rukh Khan’s 61st birthday arrived with a double surprise for Hindi film fans: a new song from King, and confirmation that Kareena Kapoor Khan will be part of the film’s dance action.
On November 2, Kareena shared a monochrome teaser of herself with SRK: a cinematic silhouette of the two standing close under an arched light, poised in a dance posture. The backlit frame hides their expressions, which only adds to the intrigue around their screen collaboration.
The birthday post that became casting news
Kareena’s caption made the news official. She wrote:
“Happy Birthday King… The forever Ruler of the kingdom… Let’s dance together… Can’t wait… 24-12-26 (sic).”
That date, 24-12-26, is the worldwide theatrical release for Siddharth Anand’s King.
Why King is a big-screen moment
For Shah Rukh Khan, King is his first theatrical release since Dunki in 2023, which makes the action-thriller a year-end marker. The cast is built for scale: Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Arshad Warsi and Raghav Juyal, with Rani Mukerji and Deepika Padukone making special appearances.
Two songs, two different moods
While Kareena’s post teases a dance number that has not been released yet, the first official song Tu Mil Jaaye dropped at midnight on November 2. That track features Shah Rukh with Deepika Padukone, and Shah Rukh marked the release with his own poetic note:
“This era of love is bestowed upon the fortunate ones… Where roses bloom amidst the fragrance of gunpowder.”
Here is what fans can experience right now:
- Tu Mil Jaaye: the first song, featuring SRK and Deepika Padukone, is out now
- Kareena-SRK dance number: confirmed via the teaser, still to arrive
- King: releases worldwide on December 24, 2026
What to do from here
Start with Tu Mil Jaaye, then follow Kareena and the makers for more glimpses of her number with SRK. The Deepika track is already streaming, while the Kareena-SRK moment is positioned as a later treat. King is co-produced by Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment and Siddharth and Mamta Anand’s Marflix Pictures, making it a year-end holiday event with a star-heavy cast.
