Medha Rana Joins Ahan Shetty in Sanki; 2027 Release Planned

Medha Rana has joined the cast of Sanki as the female lead opposite Ahan Shetty. The Tinu Suresh Desai directorial, an action romance, is already being shot in Bhopal and is now scheduled for a 2027 release.

The casting gives Bollywood a new on-screen pair built on a familiar foundation: the two actors were both part of Border 2. In that film they shared the screen as part of a larger ensemble. In Sanki, the spotlight narrows to the two of them as a romantic pair.

Why Medha said yes

Following Border 2, Medha took a measured approach before committing to her next project. She reportedly signed Sanki after connecting with the script and the specific role she was offered. Her character is said to balance romance, action and drama, making it a larger and more layered part than a standard love interest.

That preparation has been hands-on. Medha has spent the past two months attending workshops and training sessions to understand the different shades of the character, and she now joins Ahan and the rest of the unit in Bhopal.

The value of pairing familiar co-stars is simple: audiences already know the two leads can hold the screen together. Border 2 introduced them within a wider cast, and Sanki now converts that recognition into a central romance. For fans, the shift from war drama to love story will be an early reason to watch.

For Ahan, Sanki adds another familiar face to his slate. He was paired opposite Anya Singh in Border 2 and is set to reunite with her in 1920: Cold Winter. With Medha joining Sanki, he now has a second Border 2 co-star as a lead opposite.
