Rishab Shetty Wishes Ramayana Team Ahead of November 5 Release
Rishab Shetty shares a proud moment for Indian cinema as Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash's Ramayana gets ready for a November 5 release.

As Ramayana counts down to its worldwide theatrical opening on November 5, the mythological epic is drawing good wishes from across Indian cinema. The latest encouragement comes from Kannada actor-filmmaker Rishab Shetty, who shared the film’s poster on X and praised its makers for putting India’s timeless stories and culture on the big screen at a grand scale.
“There’s something truly special about seeing our timeless stories and culture brought to life on such a grand scale. A proud moment for Indian cinema!” he wrote. He added that he was looking forward to watching the spectacle in a theatre: “May #Ramayana create history and inspire generations!”
Who is in the frame
The film’s central trio alone explains the excitement.
- Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama
- Sai Pallavi as Sita
- Yash as Ravana
- Ravi Dubey as Lakshman and Sunny Deol as Hanuman
The ensemble also includes Arun Govil as Dasharatha, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha, Sheeba Chaddha as Manthara and Adinath Kothare as Bharat. Namit Malhotra and Yash co-produce the film, while DNEG handles visual effects. The music brings together A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer, which gives the film a rare two-composer global billing.
Why this blessing matters
Shetty’s post is not the first sign of cross-industry rooting. Telugu star Allu Arjun earlier sent his wishes too, calling Ramayana a representation of Indian culture and an attempt to raise the standard of Indian cinema.
For Hindi film fans, that matters. Ramayana is being positioned as a pan-India theatrical event, not a single-language release. When a Kannada star and a Telugu star celebrate it before the opening, it signals that mythological storytelling can now draw audiences and goodwill from multiple regions at once. The combination of a massive cast, heavy VFX and two internationally known composers sets a high bar.
Rishab’s own mythology slate
Shetty has his own mythological commitments after this moment. He is set to play Lord Hanuman in Jai Hanuman, directed by Prasanth Varma of HanuMan fame, with Rana Daggubati also in the cast. He will also lead the period drama The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, directed by Sandeep Singh.
For now, all eyes are on whether Ramayana can turn this goodwill into a theatrical run that matches its scale.
