Shah Rukh Khan Turns 61 with a Cheeky Reply to Salman

Shah Rukh Khan rang in his 61st birthday on November 2 with two familiar rituals: a wave to the crowd outside Mannat and a perfectly timed reply to Salman Khan. Salman posted a birthday wish on Instagram Stories, and Shah Rukh answered with the kind of cheeky warmth that has defined their friendship for years.

Social media was already flooded with birthday wishes for the actor, but the Salman-Shah Rukh exchange quickly became one of the day’s most shared moments. The charm lies in the contrast: a superstar at the centre of one of the year’s biggest upcoming films, still trading brotherly banter like no time has passed.

A birthday wish, answered with a wink

Salman Khan’s wish was simple and affectionate. He called Shah Rukh “The King” and said his prayer was that he stay forever young. Shah Rukh’s response turned the compliment into a fitness joke. He said he had worked on his body only because Salman had told him that a good body looks good without a shirt, and signed off with “Love u bhai always.”

The exchange was light, but it landed because it felt familiar. These are two stars who have spent decades in each other’s orbit, and the shorthand between them needs no explanation.

A friendship Bollywood grew up watching

Shah Rukh and Salman have shared screen space in films such as Karan Arjun and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Over the years, they have also shown up for each other’s films and milestones. That history is why a short Instagram exchange can generate this much joy.

For fans, the moment is both a throwback and a status update. It carries the nostalgia of two superstars at ease, while reminding everyone that their bond is still very much alive.

Mannat, the birthday anchor

Shah Rukh also continued his annual tradition of greeting fans outside his home. He appeared at Mannat in a casual white T-shirt and trousers, waved to the crowd and struck his signature arms-open pose. The cheers from fans made the ritual feel as eagerly awaited as ever.

The birthday in three beats

• Salman Khan’s Instagram Story wished Shah Rukh a “forever young” birthday.
• Shah Rukh’s reply delivered his trademark humour and a warm sign-off.
• The actor greeted fans at Mannat and struck his signature pose.

Next up: King

The birthday also put the spotlight on Shah Rukh’s upcoming action thriller, King, directed by Siddharth Anand. The cast includes Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Jaideep Ahlawat, Arshad Warsi, Raghav Juyal and Abhay Verma.

Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, King is scheduled to release in theatres on December 24, 2026. As the birthday posts settle, the film gives fans a clear next date to circle.
