Prabhas Turns 47: Four OTT Films to Revisit

Fans gathered outside his Hyderabad home as the Telugu star turned 47. From Varsham to Baahubali: The Epic, here are four Prabhas films to stream.

Prabhas at 47: The OTT Titles Fans Are Rewatching

Prabhas fans turned October 23 into a street-level celebration. Supporters gathered outside his Jubilee Hills home in Hyderabad before midnight, waving flags, carrying posters and cheering for the Telugu star as he turned 47. Videos shared online showed some fans standing on a moving truck with flags bearing his image, while birthday posters appeared on a wall near his residence.

The energy around the birthday is a reminder of how strongly audiences respond to the Spirit actor. And because the date is a good excuse for a rewatch, his memorable performances are easy to find on streaming platforms.

The four OTT titles fans are queuing up

Each film here shows a different side of Prabhas, from the romantic lead to the action star and the dual-role epic hero.

  • Varsham (2004) — A romance-action-family drama where Prabhas plays Venkat. He falls for Trisha’s Shailaja during a train journey, and the two have to fight family opposition, including a ruthless landlord who wants to marry her. The film is on Sun NXT.
  • Mirchi — Prabhas is Jai, a man trying to bring peace to a family torn by violence. He meets Richa Gangopadhyay’s Manasa in Milan and later returns to India, where his own past becomes part of the conflict. Anushka Shetty shares the screen with him, and the film is available on YouTube and Prime Video.
  • Rebel — An action-focused role as Rishi, also called Rebel, who is determined to find the people who destroyed his family. Tamannaah Bhatia and Deeksha Seth play the female leads. It streams on Sun NXT.
  • Baahubali: The Epic — S.S. Rajamouli’s remastered cut stitches together material from the two earlier Baahubali chapters, with a fresh technical polish and a previously unreleased scene. Prabhas plays both Amarendra Baahubali and Mahendra Baahubali. It is on Netflix.

Taken together, these films trace his climb from early Telugu success to the face of one of Indian cinema’s biggest crossover franchises.

Why this matters for Hindi film fans

Plenty of Hindi film audiences met Prabhas through Baahubali, but the OTT list fills in the story before that. Varsham is the young romantic hero, Mirchi the charming reformer, Rebel the revenge-fuelled action turn, and Baahubali: The Epic the grand double role. Watching in that order turns the birthday into something closer to a mini film festival.

If you want a simple plan, start with Varsham on Sun NXT, move to Mirchi on Prime Video, switch back to Sun NXT for Rebel, and finish with the remastered Baahubali on Netflix. That is a full weekend of star power without leaving the couch.
