Rukmini Vasanth Joins Shree Karthick’s Next as Thara
Kannada star Rukmini Vasanth has joined Shree Karthick's next film as Thara, with Dev Ramnath and Vinayak Vaithianathan also in key roles.

Kannada actor Rukmini Vasanth is staying busy. On Friday, director Shree Karthick welcomed her into his next film, revealing that she will play a character named Thara. The project is yet to be titled, and Dev Ramnath and Vinayak Vaithianathan are also part of the cast in important roles.
This is the first time Rukmini and Shree Karthick are working together, and the timing works for a performer who has been picking up visibility across film industries.
An announcement video that acts like a scene
Instead of a conventional poster or title reveal, the team shared a 2-minute 54-second video. It opens with Shree Karthick, Dev Ramnath and Vinayak Vaithianathan working toward finalising the character. They visit Rukmini’s office, narrate the script, and she responds with an approving nod. The makers then come together for a picture that confirms her character name: Thara.
That format matters. It gives fans a feel for the film’s tone before the plot is public, and it lets Rukmini’s reaction sell the collaboration more naturally than a press note would.
What the director is promising
Shree Karthick shared the announcement on X with obvious enthusiasm. He described the project in words that signal the mood he is aiming for:
“A crazy, adventurous, heartwarming film is on the way.”
He also noted that, like his earlier film “Oke Oka Jeevitham”, this one is meant to “stay in your hearts forever”. That comparison gives fans a reference point: an emotional, accessible story rather than a heavy or niche outing.
Why this casting is worth a bookmark
Rukmini Vasanth has built momentum with roles that showcase range. She appeared in “Kantara: Chapter 1” and was most recently seen as Mellisa in Yash’s “Toxic”. A collaboration with a director known for heart-forward storytelling could help her hold space with both Kannada audiences and the wider Indian film audience.
Still, the announcement leaves many blanks. There is no title, no plot summary and no release window, so followers should treat this as an early casting note rather than a full preview.
Everything else in her schedule
For those tracking her upcoming releases, the slate is already full:
- Dragon with Jr NTR and director Prashanth Neel, set for June 2027.
- NP51, a Malayalam project with Nivin Pauly.
- Mangla Gowri, a Kannada film directed by Rahul PK, where she plays a police officer alongside Malashree.
For now, the announcement video is the clearest window into the world Shree Karthick is building around Thara. The next update will likely bring the title, or at least a stronger hint of the adventure.
