Scene trailer: Suriya’s third 2026 release arrives on Diwali
Suriya's Scene trailer shows him as a cop who wants out, while Naslen plays a cold antagonist. The film releases worldwide on Diwali, November 6, 2026.

The new trailer for Scene has landed, and it points to something more playful than a routine cop film. Suriya plays DSP Inbaraj, a police officer who seems ready to leave the force. The promo opens with him deciding to move on, only for his plans to be interrupted by a murder investigation.
Directed by Jithu Madhavan, Scene is produced by Suriya and Jyotika under Zhagaram Studios and 2D Entertainment. It blends crime, mystery, action and comedy, and it is scheduled to open in theatres worldwide on November 6, 2026, on Diwali.
Who is who in the new promo
The trailer sets up a tense face-off between two very different men. Naslen plays Eeswaran, a cold and calculating antagonist. Suriya’s Inbaraj is more offbeat, bringing his own confidence to the investigation. That contrast is what gives the central conflict its spark.
- Suriya as DSP Inbaraj: a cop who wants out, pulled back for one murder case.
- Naslen as Eeswaran: a dangerous criminal who seems built to test Inbaraj.
- Nazriya Nazim as Maya: introduced as house help, later seen in action and involved in the probe.
- Lal as the senior officer: the one who asks Inbaraj to stay and help.
Nazriya’s Maya is one of the trailer’s more intriguing moves. She first appears as someone entering Inbaraj’s life as domestic help, but later sequences show her in action and taking an active role in the investigation. That gap is likely to keep audiences guessing about where her loyalty really lies.
A Singam callback and a different tone
Fans of Suriya’s cop films will notice a deliberate callback to his popular Singam dialogue. But Scene does not look like a straightforward return to that universe. It seems closer to Suriya playing with the idea of the larger-than-life police officer through Jithu Madhavan’s comic lens.
Sushin Shyam’s music moves between the contrasting moods of the trailer. The technical team also includes cinematographer Vineeth Augustian, editor Ajmal Sabu and action choreographer Chethan D’Souza, with Anandraj and Raj Priyan in important roles.
Why it matters for the audience
For Hindi film fans who track the southern industries, Scene is a useful test of how a familiar cop template can be refreshed. Inbaraj being fed up with the job is a specific, human motivation, and the trailer keeps that from being drowned out by action. If the film holds that tone, it could travel well beyond the Tamil audience.
What to do before the release
Watch the trailer closely for the Singam callback and Maya’s shift from quiet introduction to action. Then mark November 6, 2026 on your calendar, because the film is arriving in theatres worldwide for Diwali.
This is Suriya’s third theatrical release of the year, after Karuppu and Vishwanath and Sons. The holiday slot gives Scene a genuine chance to become his festive winner.
