After four kids, Kareena shuts down Saif’s baby talk: Not with me

After four kids, Kareena shuts down Saif's baby talk

Kareena Kapoor Khan just gave Saif Ali Khan one less thing to answer on national television. In a promo for The Great Indian Kapil Show, the couple’s baby talk went from running joke to punchline, with Kareena delivering the final word before her husband could react.

The seat-squirming moment

Host Kapil Sharma set the premise: Saif has had a child in every decade of his adult life. Kareena joined in, asking Saifu what the plan was now. Then Archana Puran Singh nudged the bit further by pointing out that another decade is coming soon. Kareena’s response — “Yes, we are, but not with me” — left Saif laughing and visibly embarrassed while the audience and panel joined in.

A boundary Kareena has set before

This was not a new position. Kareena made the same point in an earlier Vogue interview, where she described Saif as a father across four different decades: his twenties, thirties, forties and fifties. She also recalled telling him that his sixties would not be added to that list. Her wider point was warmer than the one-liner suggests — she praised Saif as a broad-minded parent juggling four children at very different life stages.

  • Saif and Amrita Singh: married 1991, divorced 2004; parents to Sara and Ibrahim
  • Saif and Kareena: married October 2012
  • Taimur Ali Khan: born December 2016
  • Jehangir Ali Khan: born February 2021

Why the joke lands at home

The banter works because the Khan household genuinely spans generations. Saif’s children from his first marriage are adults charting their own film paths, while Taimur and Jeh are still school-age. Kareena’s “not with me” line is not just comic timing; it reframes an intrusive family question as a couple’s private, already-settled decision.

Both actors are also busy on screen. Kareena was last seen in the Meghna Gulzar crime thriller Daayra (2026), while Saif recently appeared in Priyadarshan’s Haiwaan (2026), a Hindi remake of Oppam that reunited him with Akshay Kumar after 17 years. The couple has spoken about a practical pact behind the scenes: when one is shooting a film, the other tries not to work at the same time.
