Salman asks paps to skip intrusive angles at IIFA

At an IIFA press conference, Salman Khan returned to a familiar topic: how paparazzi choose their frames. A clip from the event shows him asking photographers to be mindful of angles, especially those taken from behind. His request was simple—show actors some dignity.

What Salman said

In the video, Salman addresses the photographers directly. “Peeche ka yaad rakh lena. Itni ijjat to de hi sakte ho sab,” he says, which translates to: keep the behind shots in mind; you can at least show that much respect.

It is not the first time he has made the point. On Bigg Boss 20 Weekend Ka Vaar, he spoke about the way some paparazzi chase leg shots and behind-the-back frames that many female actors dislike. He referred to actors including Sai Manjrekar and Neha Dhupia and questioned why such pictures are taken when the person is visibly uncomfortable.

Why it matters for filmi fans

This is a consent conversation as much as a celebrity complaint. A red-carpet appearance invites photos, but it does not invite every possible angle. When a star repeatedly asks the media pool to drop intrusive framing, it puts photographers and event organisers on notice.

  • Public access is not consent; a smile for cameras is not a yes to every frame.
  • Angles change meaning: a behind-the-back or leg-focused photo can turn a routine moment into an intrusive one.
  • Speaking up helps: Salman’s nudge shifts some responsibility back to photographers, organisers and fans.

A simple line for the filmi media

Think of it as the red-carpet version of a basic photo brief: capture the look, not the discomfort. Just as sports and fashion photographers work with clear boundaries, film events can decide in advance which angles are off-limits and make that known to the media pool.

Salman is currently hosting Bigg Boss 20 and will next be seen in Maatrubhumi. For filmi fans, the clip is a reminder that the glamour economy still needs boundaries—and that even the biggest stars are asking for them.
