Diljit’s Indore show is still on despite 4-song restriction
Diljit Dosanjh has confirmed he will perform in Indore on November 15 despite bomb threat emails and an order to drop four songs from his setlist.

Diljit’s message to Indore
Diljit Dosanjh is not backing out of Indore. After days of security warnings and objections over his lyrics, the AURA India Tour artist said he will keep his November 15 date at C-21 Mall. His message to fans was warm and characteristically cheeky: he wants to eat poha first, then take the stage.
Asked about the trouble gathering around the concert, he replied, ‘Do they know who are we?’ The line was reported by NDTV.
Why the Indore show is under pressure
The city’s authorities have been dealing with more than a star’s tour stop. Earlier this week, bomb threat emails reached three private schools and the office of Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava. The emails advised schools to keep students away from the concert. Bomb disposal teams found no explosives at any of the campuses, and Additional DCP Rajesh Dandotiya said the early read is that the threats may be hoaxes. The crime branch is tracing the technical trail.
Separately, the District Child Protection Officer asked C-21 Mall to make sure four songs are not performed. The order came after a complaint by Chandigarh professor Dr Panditrao Dharennavar, who argued that the lyrics promote alcohol, drugs and weapons, and cited a 2019 Punjab and Haryana High Court order on songs that glorify intoxicants and violence.
The four tracks under the scanner are:
- Patiala Pegg
- 5 Taara Theeke
- Jeeb Vicho Labbiya
- Jatt Uthe Fire Karda Jithe Pabandi Hathiyara Di
A pattern of last-minute hurdles
Indore is not the first stop to face turbulence. Diljit’s Delhi concert on October 30 nearly stalled after Delhi Police initially held permission over festive-season security and law-and-order concerns. The organisers submitted a revised plan for safety, traffic and crowd control, and the show went ahead. Reports say around 2,000 security personnel were deployed and a 700-metre no-car zone was set up around the venue. After the show, Diljit thanked the police and said some people had tried hard to stop it.
He also revealed on Instagram Live that a Bihar date fell through over a disagreement about crowd management: officials expected him to manage the audience, while he felt that was the administration’s job. He described crowd control as a big task that needs real planning on the ground.
What it means for fans and the tour
For concertgoers, the Indore show is shaping up to be a high-security night. The Delhi template — around 2,000 personnel and a long car-free perimeter — suggests fans should plan for slower entry, ID checks and possible setlist changes. None of that should dim the bigger promise: Diljit has said he will be there.
The AURA India Tour continues after Indore with stops in Ahmedabad on November 21, Mumbai on November 27, Bengaluru on November 29, Lucknow on December 5, Chandigarh on December 12 and Kolkata on December 19.
