Diljit Dosanjh Answers Satluj Trolls With Only Love
At his Delhi concert, Diljit Dosanjh addressed the Satluj trolling, defended his team's long fight to release the film, and confirmed the tour runs until December 20.

Diljit Dosanjh is on the road with his Aura India Tour 2026, but the most talked-about moment from the Delhi opener on October 30 was not a song. It was his first extended public response to the trolling around Satluj, the Honey Trehan-directed film that landed on ZEE5 and was pulled from the platform shortly after release.
For an artist whose audience spans Punjabi and Hindi cinema, the stage gave him a different kind of platform: a live audience, a tour camera, and a controversy that had been running online without his voice.
Why Satluj became a flashpoint
The film centres on human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra. Set in the early 1990s, it follows an ordinary citizen who begins investigating after uncovering evidence that thousands of unidentified bodies may have been secretly cremated following alleged fake encounters and enforced disappearances.
That difficult subject matter made Satluj a talking point before the tour began. The project faced delays, and its quick removal from ZEE5 only added to the scrutiny. In Delhi, Dosanjh pushed back at those who mocked the film, asking people not to teach Punjabis how to fight battles.
Diljit defends the long fight
Dosanjh acknowledged the criticism directly. He said his team “fought for a very long time for that film.” He added that he loves the audience because he is an artist, and that if someone hates them, his side sends only love. The response was loyal to his team, firm about the work, and pointedly refused to meet trolling with anger.
The moment matters because it reframes Satluj as a project people had to fight to bring out, rather than a release that quietly came and went. Instead of letting the backlash write the film’s story, Dosanjh is putting the effort behind it back into the conversation.
India tour continues through December 20
Dosanjh also confirmed the India leg will run until December 20, despite attempts to stop his concerts. For ticket-holders, the message was clear:
- The Aura India Tour 2026 is still on as planned.
- Diljit is engaging the Satluj conversation directly rather than avoiding it.
- Onstage pushback suggests criticism will not shorten the run.
From Udta Punjab to Amar Singh Chamkila
Hindi film audiences know Dosanjh as more than a touring musician. He broke into Bollywood with Udta Punjab in 2016, winning the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut, and followed it with Phillauri, Soorma, Good Newwz and Amar Singh Chamkila. Returning to a difficult, politically charged story feels like a continuation of that range, not a detour.
