Nayyi Navelli ends week one at Rs 29.06 crore worldwide

Yami Gautam's Nayyi Navelli ended week one with Rs 22.15 crore India net and Rs 29.06 crore worldwide gross after a 25% day-seven dip.

Nayyi Navelli Ends Week One at Rs 29.06 Crore Worldwide

Yami Gautam’s supernatural family drama Nayyi Navelli has wrapped its first week in cinemas with a worldwide gross of Rs 29.06 crore. The bigger question is whether it can hold beyond a modest, front-loaded opening.

First-week box office at a glance

On Thursday, October 22, the film added Rs 1.50 crore India net from 4,539 shows, according to trade data from Sacnilk. That was a 25% slide from Wednesday’s Rs 2 crore. The day’s overall occupancy came in at 9.92%, with night shows leading at 12.54% and morning shows at 5.54%.

  • Day 7 India net: Rs 1.50 crore from 4,539 shows
  • First-week India net: Rs 22.15 crore
  • Domestic gross: Rs 26.31 crore; overseas gross: Rs 2.75 crore
  • Worldwide gross: Rs 29.06 crore
  • Day 7 footfalls: 87,366; cumulative footfalls: 1,098,344

The day-by-day curve

Nayyi Navelli released in India on October 16, 2026, and opened at Rs 3.25 crore from 6,281 shows with 11% occupancy. It climbed to Rs 4 crore on Saturday and Rs 4.40 crore on Sunday, before Monday’s expected dip to Rs 2.65 crore.

Tuesday was the surprise: Rs 4.35 crore from 4,835 shows at 21% occupancy, the best occupancy figure of the week. Wednesday settled at Rs 2 crore, and Thursday’s Rs 1.50 crore completed the first-week India net total of Rs 22.15 crore.

Alongside Yami Gautam, the cast includes Adinath Kothare, Aaditya Kulshreshth, Sonal Jha, Sunita Rajwar and Mita Vashisht. The story follows a bride in a Meerut household whose presence raises questions about a possible supernatural identity.

Why the hold matters

The first-week total is not an outright breakout for a film that started on 6,281 shows. The show count has since narrowed to 4,539, and Thursday’s average of Rs 3,305 per show suggests the film is playing to a smaller, more selective audience.

The plot hook is clear, but the box-office pattern is a reminder that genre films live and die on word of mouth after the opening weekend. Tuesday’s spike to 21% occupancy is the one data point that argues Nayyi Navelli can rally when audiences turn up.

What to watch next

The second Friday will be the real test. If the film can hold close to its Thursday number or improve over the weekend, it has a chance to build on its Rs 22.15 crore India net. A sharp fall, by contrast, would suggest a front-loaded run that has already spent its initial demand.
