Prabhas’ Fauzi teaser reveals a code tougher than Enigma

Anupam Kher's birthday note for Prabhas arrives as the Fauzi teaser stages a Bose-Hitler meeting and reveals a spy code tied to the Bhagavad Gita.

Prabhas' Fauzi teaser: the spy code tougher than Enigma

Prabhas turned 47 on Friday, October 23, and the day came with two gifts for fans: a warm note from his Fauzi co-star Anupam Kher and a fuller look at the period war drama itself.

Anupam Kher’s birthday note

Kher posted a picture with Prabhas on X and wrote that the actor is his “dearest friend and superstar icon.” The veteran also said working with Prabhas on Fauzi is a pleasure, and he joked, or perhaps confessed, that the food Prabhas brings from home is enough to feed the whole unit.

The message praised Prabhas’s smile, warmth and generosity as much as his screen presence. It is the kind of cross-industry affection that often stays private, but Kher chose to make it public on the star’s birthday.

Fauzi’s teaser raises the stakes

The makers marked the birthday by releasing a teaser that reveals more about Prabhas’s character. The centrepiece is a meeting in Berlin between Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Adolf Hitler during the Second World War.

In the teaser, Bose seeks Germany’s help against British rule in India. Hitler refuses and makes a pointed remark about India’s long colonial history. Bose’s response is defiant: he will free India with or without Germany’s support.

Who is Fauzi?

The conversation turns to an Indian spy named Fauzi, played by Prabhas. The teaser describes him as a soldier, strategist and spy who played a key role in Japan’s capture of Singapore from Britain.

Here is what the teaser lays out:

  • The mission: Fauzi’s wartime role goes beyond espionage to a real strategic turning point.
  • The code: Fauzi builds a code based on the Bhagavad Gita, reportedly harder to crack than Germany’s Enigma code.
  • The cast: Imanvi Esmail debuts as the female lead, with Mithun Chakraborty, Jaya Prada and Sajjad Delafrooz also aboard.
  • The release: March 2027 is the speculated window, not an official date.

For Hindi film fans, the pitch is instantly larger than a war story. Pairing Bose and Hitler on screen gives the film a high-stakes historical backdrop, while the Gita-coded spy adds an Indian cultural hook that sets Fauzi apart from a standard espionage thriller.

Why the combination works

Prabhas has long been one of India’s biggest pan-India stars, so even a birthday teaser becomes a national talking point. Adding Anupam Kher to the frame brings veteran credibility as well as warmth, which helps the film feel like more than a star vehicle.

What to do until March 2027

Treat the date as speculative and the teaser as a tone-setter. Watch the Berlin scene for how director Hanu Raghavapudi balances drama and scale, and don’t mistake a stylised wartime meeting for a documentary account.
