₹28.96 cr worldwide for Prahaar; Day 15 adds ₹29 lakh

Rajkummar Rao's Prahaar added ₹29 lakh on Day 15 to reach a ₹28.96 crore worldwide gross, but week two dropped 74.2% to ₹4.42 crore.

Prahaar at ₹28.96 cr worldwide; Day 15 adds ₹29 lakh

Box office updates can be noisy, but the latest numbers for Prahaar: The Ujjwal Nikam Story point to a simple truth: the film is living on its evening audience and its opening-week goodwill.

Day 15: a small bump, not a breakout

The Rajkummar Rao-starrer collected ₹29 lakh in India on Friday, October 30, according to Sacnilk figures published by The Times of India. That was 3.6% higher than Thursday’s ₹28 lakh. The film played 914 shows, averaging ₹3,173 per show.

Another sign of the squeeze: the film had 914 shows on Friday, down from 1,156 a day earlier. Fewer screens make recovery harder even when per-show averages improve slightly.

The Friday bump came after two consecutive days of decline. Overall occupancy stayed at 10%, while the Hindi 2D version’s day-part chart told the real story: 2.69% in the morning, 6.15% in the afternoon, 13.15% in the evening and 19.23% at night. This is a film that only comes alive after sundown.

The first week-to-second week slide

The film opened with ₹2.35 crore, moved to ₹3.15 crore on Saturday and peaked at ₹3.65 crore on Sunday. Week one closed at ₹17.15 crore India net. Week two brought in ₹4.42 crore — a 74.2% drop.

  • Domestic net collection: ₹21.86 crore
  • India gross: ₹26.01 crore
  • Overseas gross: ₹2.95 crore
  • Worldwide gross: ₹28.96 crore

After the second weekend, the film has stayed below the crore mark through the weekdays, which suggests its audience was front-loaded.

What the night-show pattern tells us

Occupancy is the share of available seats actually sold across the day’s screenings. At 10% overall, the film is filling only a thin slice of its capacity. A strong weekend can mask that, but weekday numbers reveal whether a title has repeat value.

For a niche courtroom drama, evening and night occupancy is a lifeline. The 19.23% night-show figure suggests working audiences are still turning up after hours, while daytime screenings are largely empty. That will shape how long theatres keep giving the film screens.

The film traces the career of public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam and his role in legal battles around the 1993 Bombay blasts and the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Rajkummar Rao leads a cast that includes Wamiqa Gabbi, Lalit Prabhakar, Jaideep Ahlawat and Sikandar Kher. Released on October 16, the film has now completed 15 days in cinemas.

With worldwide gross at ₹28.96 crore, the next weekend is its best shot at a ₹30 crore finish. If night audiences hold, it may get there; if weekday drops continue, it is likely to settle in the ₹29 crore range.
