Pratap trailer: Amit Sadh’s cop lands behind bars

The first full trailer for Pratap positions the film as a mystery wrapped in an action drama. Amit Sadh plays a decorated encounter specialist who ends up behind bars, but the trailer refuses to show why. That gap between the officer’s past and prisoner’s present is the central tension.

Esha Deol co-stars, with Seema Biswas, Tigmanshu Dhulia and Milind Gunaji also in the ensemble. Writer-director Sachin Saraf is behind the film, which is produced by Pradeep Rangwani and presented by UV Films.

Sadh described the role in terms of contradiction. “Pratap is not your conventional cop story,” he said. “What interested me was the journey of a man who has spent his life enforcing the law, only to find himself on the other side of it. There are so many emotions and contradictions within this character.”

Deol promised the film changes how viewers read its characters. “There are several layers to the narrative, and as the story unfolds, you begin to see the characters and their circumstances differently,” she said.

A deliberate mystery

Saraf said the film explores “choices, consequences and the fine line between right and wrong.” That theme explains the trailer’s structure: by denying the reason for Pratap’s imprisonment, it asks the audience to sit with the question rather than rush to judgement. For fans of the cop-drama genre, that’s a welcome change from promos that give away the third act.
