Ramayana: 30 Days Out and Promotions Still Quiet

Nitesh Tiwari's epic has Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash, global IMAX ambitions—and a very quiet campaign 30 days before release.

Ramayana Is 30 Days Out and Still Quiet on Promotions

Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Rise of a Legend is one of those rare projects that arrives with scale, star power and global ambition already attached. Headlined by Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash, it has been framed as a defining Indian epic. Yet with roughly a month left before its worldwide release, the promotional campaign is still unusually quiet.

What is missing

The usual markers of a big-ticket campaign have not appeared. There is no major trailer, no full song drop and no large-scale fan event to anchor the run-up. For a film this size, trade watchers expected a sustained push by now. Instead, the conversation is less about what the film will look like and more about why the real campaign has not begun.

A strategy or a delay?

The quiet could be deliberate. Teams sometimes hold back a trailer, songs and events for the final three or four weeks to avoid overexposure and create one concentrated burst. That can work when a title is already in the culture. But an epic built on scale needs a longer awareness curve and time to sustain momentum, especially when expectations are already enormous. With only around 30 days left, there is little room for a false start.

Premium screens make the window tighter

The international run adds another variable. Ramayana is being positioned as a major IMAX and PLF spectacle. Meanwhile, Godzilla Minus Zero is also arriving in the same November window, and premium auditoriums are limited. In overseas markets, the two films could end up competing for the most valuable IMAX and other large-format screens.

A reported decision to advance the overseas release to November 5 in some markets could help the film avoid a direct clash. But moving dates does not solve the larger gap: the marketing noise is still missing.

The stakes in three lines

  • A global epic has only weeks to build sustained audience awareness.
  • A blockbuster campaign needs a trailer, songs and major events to lead it.
  • Competition for IMAX and PLF screens is part of the same window fight.

What to watch next

If the trailer, songs and events arrive in a tight, high-impact burst, the silence will look like a deliberate final-phase plan. If they keep trickling out, the film risks failing to become the global event its scale demands. The stars, scale and expectations are already in place; the promotional aggression is the missing piece.
