Ramayana Crosses Rs 20 Crore in Advance Booking

Ramayana Part One has crossed Rs 20 crore in worldwide advance bookings ten days before release, led by Hindi sales and strong regional and overseas early demand.

Ramayana Banks Rs 20 Crore in Advance Booking

Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana Part One is still ten days from its November 5 theatrical release, but it has already started writing box-office headlines. Advance bookings opened on Dussehra and the film has banked Rs 20 crore worldwide as of October 25, according to trade reports.

That early total matters because it shows demand is converting into ticket sales well before the release date. The first day of bookings brought an impressive rush, and while the pace has cooled slightly since, the film continues to add steadily.

Hindi leads the domestic charge

The domestic leg has collected Rs 10 crore, with more than two lakh tickets sold for opening day. The Hindi version is doing most of the work, contributing nearly 87 per cent of total domestic advance bookings.

That dominance is reflected in show counts. The Hindi version already has more than 4,200 shows available across India on opening day, far ahead of the regional versions.

Regional and overseas pockets punch above their weight

The Kannada version, available on roughly 100 screens, has crossed Rs 1 crore in advance sales. Several centres have reported close to 80 per cent occupancy for morning shows. The Telugu version is far more limited — bookings opened across just 10 to 15 screens — and is nearing Rs 40 lakh. Even with that small footprint, four of the 44 Telugu shows available have already sold out.

Overseas, paid previews are set for North America on November 4, a day before the official release. Those previews have sold about $550,000 in tickets, while opening-day overseas bookings have added another $400,000.

What fans should do now

For anyone planning to watch on opening weekend, the early signal is clear: book sooner rather than later. The limited regional shows are moving fast, and the Hindi footprint, while large, is likely to fill as the release nears.

  • Domestic advance: Rs 10 crore with more than 2 lakh opening-day tickets sold
  • Hindi share: nearly 87% of domestic advance bookings
  • Kannada: more than Rs 1 crore from about 100 screens
  • Telugu: nearing Rs 40 lakh from 10–15 screens
  • Overseas: $550,000 in North America previews plus $400,000 in opening-day bookings

The next ten days will show whether Ramayana Part One can convert this early interest into a genuinely big opening. For now, the film has turned a festive booking window into a head start — exactly what a big-ticket Bollywood release hopes to do.
