Ranbir Kapoor says God prescribed acting for Sai Pallavi

On KBC 18, Ranbir Kapoor quips that God wrote acting in Sai Pallavi's prescription, ahead of Ramayana's November 5 release.

Ranbir's witty prescription line for Sai Pallavi on KBC

Some career switches come with a white coat, a stethoscope and a twist of fate. That is the story Sai Pallavi told on Kaun Banega Crorepati 18—and Ranbir Kapoor had a suitably witty second opinion.

In a newly released promo, host Amitabh Bachchan asks Sai Pallavi how someone who trained to become a doctor ended up in films instead. Her answer is not a five-year plan but destiny: acting, she suggests, is what God always intended for her. Cue Ranbir.

“Bhagwan ka prescription tha Sir (God wrote in his prescription) that she has to act.”

The line, delivered with Ranbir’s easy comic timing, drew cheers and applause from the studio audience. It is a small moment, but these are the moments that often travel furthest on social media.

The doctor who became Sita

Sai Pallavi’s medical background is not a rumour. She completed her medical studies at Tbilisi State Medical University in Georgia before choosing a career in cinema. Her breakthrough performance in the Malayalam film Premam made her a name, and she has since become one of the most celebrated performers in South Indian cinema.

In Ramayana, she steps into the role of Sita. Another promo clip from the KBC special shows her explaining that she approached the character differently from her earlier projects—more eager to learn from the experience than to list what she could bring to it.

Ramayana’s final promo push

The KBC special is part of the promotional run for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi plays Sita, and Ravie Dubey plays Lakshmana. Yash appears as Ravana and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman.

Fans can catch the trio on KBC 18 on October 29 and 30. The first instalment of the mythological epic is scheduled to release theatrically on November 5, 2026.

  • KBC special: October 29 and 30, with Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Ravie Dubey.
  • Release date: November 5, 2026, for the first instalment.
  • Cast: Ranbir as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravie Dubey as Lakshmana, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman.

Why the one-liner works

Ranbir’s quip takes Sai Pallavi’s real story—a trained doctor who became an actor—and folds it into the film’s larger language of destiny and dharma. That is why it lands: it is a promotional joke that actually fits the mythology the team is selling. It also softens the scale of a mythological epic with very human banter.

For fans, the moment is a reminder that Ramayana is now close enough to touch. The cast is visible, the interviews are flowing, and the release date is just days away.
