Salman Khan gets armed cover after Tiger Shroff attack

Salman Khan’s arrival at Mumbai’s Kalina airport on Tuesday morning looked like a routine celebrity sighting – navy blue button-down, dark denim and aviators. The difference was the ring of armed Special Protection Unit officers walking alongside him. Days after Tiger Shroff was attacked on October 18, the actor is now moving under high-priority security.

A security review that is no formality

The upgraded protocol follows Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s assurance that protection for film personalities would be reviewed after he met Shroff at his residence. Police have so far detained three people in connection with the firing.

That review has become urgent because the threat is not vague. After the attack on Shroff, two men claiming to represent jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang – Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu – posted on X that they were responsible. They also warned rival groups against claiming credit for the incident.

Whoever in the Mumbai film industry does not listen to us or works with Salman Khan, they will be next. Wait and watch (sic).

Why this is bigger than one actor

Khan has faced recurring threats linked to Bishnoi, but this post widens the risk. It turns any collaboration with one star into a potential security question, and that is why the All Indian Cine Workers Association has spoken up. The AICWA condemned the firing and asked Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to take strict action.

Their question is blunt: if Hindi film personalities cannot feel safe in Mumbai, how do they keep shooting, promoting and travelling? For fans, that tension will show up in public life.

  • More visible armed protection at airports and events
  • Fewer last-minute appearances and open fan interactions
  • Stricter checks at film sets and promotional venues

What production teams can do now

Until the police investigation firms up the Bishnoi link, security will remain the lead item in any event plan.

  • Alert police before any star appearance
  • Keep travel and venue plans off social media
  • Schedule police liaison time into shoot and event logistics

For audiences, the shift may mean fewer surprise airport sightings and more official, controlled appearances. It is a trade-off the industry appears ready to accept after a week that made security feel personal. The state’s promised security review could set new ground rules, but for now every movement of a top star will be read as a signal, and the next step depends on whether the three detentions produce credible leads or more threats.
