Salman Khan gets Y+ security after Tiger Shroff firing

After shots were fired at Tiger Shroff's car, Bollywood is moving fast: Y+ cover for Salman Khan, bulletproof glass for Akshay Kumar, and extra patrols.

Salman gets Y+ cover, Akshay adds bulletproof glass

The firing incident involving Tiger Shroff has moved Bollywood from shock to a security overhaul. On Sunday, shots were fired at Shroff’s car as he returned home from football practice. The actor escaped with minor abrasions; his driver, Ibrahim Firdaus, was hurt and taken to Nanavati Max Hospital.

Y+ cover, bulletproof glass and extra patrols

Within days, the response around major star homes has hardened. Here is what has changed on the ground:

  • Salman Khan: now has Y+ security cover and was recently seen leaving Mumbai during the investigation.
  • Akshay Kumar: is reportedly installing a bulletproof glass shield at his Juhu residence.
  • Aamir Khan and Rohit Shetty: extra police patrolling has been intensified outside their Bandra and Juhu homes.

The heightened measures follow an investigation line cited by NDTV: the attackers may have initially targeted another prominent Bollywood star, not Tiger Shroff. That possibility has put the industry on alert.

Umesh Chauhan’s surgery becomes the focus

The most urgent fallout is medical. Umesh Chauhan, who was injured in the firing, has a bullet lodged in his liver, and doctors at KEM Hospital have scheduled surgery for Wednesday to try to remove it. His recovery is expected to take considerable time.

Tiger’s mother, Ayesha Shroff, visited the hospital on Tuesday and met Chauhan’s cousin, Rahul Goud, to check on the family. Goud told Mid-Day, “Ayesha madam visited early on Tuesday and inquired about my brother’s health.” He said she shared her number and assured the family they could reach her for help.

Chauhan lives in Mankhurd with his wife, who is eight months pregnant, and their six-year-old son. His father is travelling from Banaras while his father-in-law stays with him at the hospital.

Why this changes the fan experience

For Bollywood fans, visible security outside star homes is not routine set dressing; it changes how Juhu and Bandra’s most photographed streets operate. Expect stricter checks, fewer impromptu gate gatherings and a more guarded presence at public appearances while police work out who the attackers really wanted.

After the shooting, Mumbai Police escorted Tiger back to his residence under tight security, and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited him at home. That level of official attention signals that the case is being handled as a serious security matter, not just a celebrity scare. If you live in or visit those neighbourhoods this week, give the police room to work and avoid crowding outside residences.
