Jailer 2 Day 10 surge takes worldwide gross to Rs 666.30 crore

Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 jumps 66.6% on Day 10 to Rs 24.15 crore nett, taking global gross to Rs 666.30 crore.

Jailer 2 races to Rs 666.30 crore global gross on Day 10

Second Saturday jump puts Rs 700 crore in view

Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 did not simply hold in its second weekend; it accelerated. The film collected Rs 24.15 crore nett across India on Day 10, a 66.6% rise over the Rs 14.50 crore it earned the previous day. That single day’s surge pushed the worldwide gross to Rs 666.30 crore, leaving the film just under Rs 34 crore short of the Rs 700 crore mark.

Where Day 10 collections came from

The Tamil version remains the core engine of the sequel’s box office run. On Day 10, the language-wise split shaped up like this:

  • Tamil: Rs 16.25 crore from 5,545 shows
  • Telugu: Rs 4.40 crore from 1,835 shows
  • Hindi: Rs 2.90 crore from 4,008 shows
  • Kannada: Rs 60 lakh from 203 shows

At state level, Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 12 crore, Karnataka added Rs 5.50 crore, and Andhra Pradesh and Telangana together brought Rs 4.50 crore on Day 10.

Occupancy shows the evening charge

The Tamil 2D version finished the day with overall occupancy of 49.7%. The real story was how fast it grew: from 29% in the morning to 48.15% in the afternoon, 56% in the evening and a peak of 65.46% during night shows. Chennai led tracked Tamil cities at 72.5%, followed by Coimbatore at 64.8% and Trichy at 61.8%.

The Telugu 2D version managed 41.4% overall, with Bengaluru at 60.3% and Mumbai at 57%. Hindi 2D occupancy was softer at 24.2%, but its night shows climbed to 37.3%.

Why this matters for the Rajinikanth franchise

The second Saturday figure takes Jailer 2’s India nett total to Rs 373 crore, with India gross at Rs 436.80 crore and overseas gross at Rs 229.50 crore. The film has already moved past the reported domestic lifetime collections of Border 2 (Rs 329 crore) and Hanuman Ansh (Rs 339 crore).

That milestone matters because it shows the sequel is not just a Tamil Nadu phenomenon. The Hindi and Telugu versions are contributing, and overseas collections remain substantial. For a star-led action sequel, the second-weekend acceleration suggests word-of-mouth is working alongside Rajinikanth’s fan base.

What comes next

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures, Jailer 2 continues the story of retired jailer Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. The sequel stars Rajinikanth alongside Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, SJ Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Vidya Balan, with Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar and Jackie Shroff returning in cameos.

Advance bookings had already indicated strong demand: sales began on October 10, five days before release, and crossed Rs 80 crore worldwide by the end of October 14. If the evening and night occupancy holds through Sunday, Rs 700 crore looks increasingly like a matter of when, not if.
