Ranabaali Sunday Bump Takes Worldwide Gross to Rs 36.90 cr

Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna’s Ranabaali saw a modest Sunday lift, but the real story is the gap between its weekend recovery and its opening-day energy. The Telugu historical drama added an estimated Rs 7.50 crore net in India on day three, according to industry tracker Sacnilk, taking its worldwide gross to Rs 36.90 crore after three days.

Day-wise numbers

Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, the film opened on Friday, October 16. Here is how the first weekend has moved:

  • Friday: Rs 9.25 crore net, 57% occupancy, 2,515 shows
  • Saturday: Rs 7.30 crore net, 53% occupancy, 2,292 shows
  • Sunday: Rs 7.50 crore net, 56% occupancy, 2,302 shows

Sunday’s India net was a 2.7% improvement over Saturday, but the total remains below the opening-day figure. The film recorded 578,686 footfalls on Sunday, pushing its three-day total to 1,842,311.

Sunday’s small recovery matters because a historical drama with mixed reviews needs a strong cushion before the working week. The film added a few shows compared with Saturday, 2,302 against 2,292, and occupancy climbed back to 56%. Still, daily earnings remain about Rs 1.75 crore below Friday, so the weekday trend will decide whether Ranabaali can build a long tail.

Where the money came from

Domestic collections dominate. After three days, Ranabaali has earned Rs 24.05 crore net in India, with a domestic gross of Rs 28 crore. Overseas markets contributed Rs 1.50 crore on Sunday, taking the cumulative overseas gross to Rs 8.90 crore.

State-wise, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana led Sunday with Rs 7.25 crore gross. Karnataka added Rs 1.05 crore, Tamil Nadu Rs 0.20 crore, and the rest of India accounted for Rs 25 lakh. The reported state-wise gross of Rs 8.75 crore differs from the India net figure because gross includes taxes.

The word-of-mouth challenge

Ranabaali arrived to mixed reviews, which makes weekday holding the crucial test. The Telugu version’s Sunday occupancy pattern suggests afternoon and evening audiences are responding more strongly: overall occupancy was 54.53%, with afternoon shows at 65.62%, evening at 61.38%, night at 57.69%, and morning shows at 31.15%.

For Hindi film fans who have followed the two actors through Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade, Ranabaali is another test of their combined pull. But the weekend numbers suggest the film is leaning heavily on the Telugu-speaking states, and weekday trends will show whether the Sunday bump is more than a one-day pattern.

At a Hyderabad press conference, Rashmika Mandanna compared Vijay Deverakonda’s transformation to Allu Arjun’s turn as Pushpa in Pushpa 2: The Rule. “Bunny sir as Bunny sir and Bunny sir as Pushpa were two different people,” she said, adding that watching Vijay on set felt different from their earlier Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade collaborations. “He’s a one-man show,” she said.

Box office figures are industry estimates and may change as official studio data is updated.
