Scene Glimpse: Suriya’s DSP Inbaraj on a Pandemic-Era Murder Case
Scene's new glimpse puts Suriya's DSP Inbaraj on a COVID-era murder investigation and debuts Arivu's track 'Respectaa'.

The makers of Scene have shared a fresh glimpse of Suriya as DSP Inbaraj, and the clip does more than introduce a cop. It places him inside a murder investigation during the COVID-19 pandemic, introduces a new voice, and leaves a small visual clue that has fans re-reading the timeline.
A murder, a pandemic and a beard
In the promo, Inbaraj meets Sibi, played by first-timer Rajpriyan, to look into a murder. The pandemic frames at least part of that investigation, so the case arrives with specific atmosphere and tension.
Later in the footage, Suriya is seen with a beard. The team has not spelled out why, but the glimpse is cut to suggest the story may not run in a straight line. A different look could mean a different chapter of Inbaraj’s life, or at least a later point in the inquiry.
The video arrives after an earlier reveal of Naslen as Eswaran. With that character and Inbaraj both out in the open, the film’s central mystery remains largely hidden.
Music joins the investigation
The new glimpse also introduces Respectaa, sung by Arivu and written by Vaasi. Composer Sushin Shyam, who worked with Jithu Madhavan on Romancham and Aavesham, is back for this Tamil outing. That reunion matters: Shyam’s music has been part of the director’s offbeat rhythm in the past.
The wider crew includes cinematographer Vineeth Augustian, editor Ajmal Sabu, production designer Ashwini Kale and action director Chethan D’Souza. Together they are shaping the film’s treatment of the investigation at a visual level.

Why it matters for fans
Jithu Madhavan arrives with a reputation built on Romancham and Aavesham, two Malayalam films known for distinctive characterisation. Pairing that voice with Suriya, whose recent choices have moved across genres, makes Scene feel like a genuine cross-industry experiment rather than a standard star vehicle.
The campaign is also being assembled piece by piece: first Eswaran, now Inbaraj, and now one song. The restrained reveals work as clues. Fans can reasonably keep an eye on each new drop for hints about the time shifts, the murder and the way the two lead characters collide.
