Yash’s Monster Mind Takes Karnataka Rights for Nov 5 Ramayana
Yash's Monster Mind Creations acquires Karnataka theatrical rights for Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, marking the banner's formal entry into distribution.

A star turns distributor
Monster Mind Creations, the banner led by Yash, has picked up the Karnataka distribution rights for Nitesh Tiwari’s two-part Ramayana. That makes Yash’s company the outfit that will handle the theatrical rollout in his home state when the film arrives on November 5.
The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Rama and Sai Pallavi as Sita, with Yash as Ravana, the king of Lanka. The first chapter, also titled Ramayana: Rise of a Legend, adapts the ancient Hindu epic and follows Rama’s marriage to Sita and the couple’s 14-year exile in the Dandaka Forest.
Why this move fits Yash’s bigger plan
Yash’s choices since KGF: Chapter 2 have moved him from being a star to being an owner. He has not rushed into another conventional action vehicle; instead he committed to the Ramayana duology, launched Monster Mind Creations as a production house, and has the gangster drama Toxic in the works.
Entering distribution is a logical next step. A production banner that also distributes can control how a film is marketed and released in a key territory. For Yash, that first territory is naturally Karnataka, where his KGF-era fame remains strongest and where the opening weekend will be watched closely.
Yash has described the film as a passion project, one he hopes will present an Indian epic with world-class scale to audiences across the globe. That helps explain why he would attach his own banner to the Karnataka release rather than leave it to a third party.
What it means for Ramayana’s release
Having a local star’s own banner handle Karnataka distribution gives the film a potential advantage in a competitive South Indian market. The home-state audience may respond to a release backed by Yash’s banner, especially because his Ravana casting has already generated conversation online. Fans have noted his warrior-like styling and the larger-than-life screen presence he brings from the KGF films.
Still, the real measure is how the film performs on November 5 and the days after. If Monster Mind Creations delivers a strong Karnataka opening, it could change how the industry views stars as distributors, not just actors.
What fans should keep an eye on
- November 5: the scheduled theatrical release of Ramayana: Part 1.
- Karnataka opening: the first public test of Yash’s distribution arm.
- Business evolution: Monster Mind Creations now spans production and distribution.
For Hindi film fans, the story is bigger than one distribution deal. It is another sign that major Indian stars are using their stardom to build companies, not just filmographies. Whether Yash’s first distribution bet pays off will show up at the Karnataka box office long before the rest of the country weighs in.
